35 Years in the making Ace

This was a HHH day playing with my good friend, his wife and daughter in a Memorial tournament honoring his late nephew with about 162 other players in RI. I had come close before so there were no expectations and I had thought that an ace was not in the cards. My friends are surprised that I had never had an ace before with my 8 handicap.

Anyway, this was the 6th at Fenner Hills in Hope Valley, RI. It was 136 yards to the flag via my laser. This was a betting hole with a spotter at the green. A 3/4 swing with my 8 iron...one bounce...5 feet to the right of the pin. I knew it was a good shot as it felt good leaving the club. The ball took one hop and rolled in to everyone's excitement...especially to me. This hole-in-one reverberated throughout the tournament quickly which had not had one in its eleven years.

It is a wonderful and special feeling you just want to share with your golfing buddies, friends and family!!
