The temperature was in the 90’s with matching humidity on August 13, 2013. There was nothing spectacular about my game that day, just plugging along. As we approached number 7 at Hunters Green Golf and Country Club in Tampa, Florida, I had no idea that I was about to record my first Ace. Because I am not a “long hitter”, the air was heavy, and the flag was in the back, I elected to hit my driver. As soon as the ball hit the club face, I knew it was a good shot. My playing partners and I could not see where the ball stopped because of the green’s contour. As we approached the green and I did not see my ball (a Titleist DT Roll), I began to become extremely excited. The ball was in the hole! My game that day ended at number 7 for all I could think about was that Ace!
