Finally Made The Ace on Number 6

I play out of Picacho Hills CC in Las Cruces, NM. Our 6th hole is an up-hill par 3 of about 125 yards. I have been close to in hole in one at #6 on a couple of occasions, one of which dented the perimeter of the cup but did not drop.

On Masters weekend we have an interesting tournament where we compete on Saturday and Sunday after being paired with a PGA pro who has made the weekend cut. I did not play that well on Saturday and was out of contention given that my PGA pro (who will remain nameless)played almost as badly as I did.

During the Sunday round, I arrived at the sixth hole in the afternoon since we started on the back nine. The wind was at us, so I chose a 7 iron for the shot to assure that I would make the green. I struck my TITLEIST NXT Tour quite well and directly over the flag. The ball hit the green behind the hole and drew back down the slope into the hole. It special to have the hole in one during the tournament, except for the fact that the grill room was packed. My bar tab maxed out pretty quickly.

This was my second hole in one on our course. I holed out a Titleist ProV1 on the 15th hole a few years back.
One thing I have learned about those hole in one moments - you approach the tee with the intention of holing out, but it seems like wishful thinking - until one day. It happens - unexpectedly, but still a thrill. Thanks for letting me share
