The first day of the 2014 Ryder Cup will live long in my memory as it's the day I landed my first Hole in one.
Playing the 8th hole at The Ridgeway, Cardiff Wales, my mate hit a decent tee shot to the 167 yard elevated green We said that wouldn't be far away from the pin. I then hit my recovery club gun barrel straight and again we said that's pretty close. Walking up joking I said what's the odds on two balls being at the bottom of the cup not thinking there was much hope of one being in there.

When we made it up onto the green there was only one ball visible, which was my mates. As I wandered across the green to have a look over the back of the green I just had a peek in the hole. And there sat there smiling up at me was my Titleist No4.

This was 21 hours ago, and am now ion target for the longest smile ever. What a fantastic feeling and one that a twenty handicapper never expected to feel!
