A "bear" of a shot

My younger brother and I have a tradition of golfing with my father every year for Father's Day. Due to our work and personal schedules we finally all 3 had a free day (Thursday 7/23) to make it out to a course in Cincinnati, OH. The course is "The Grizzly" at the golf center at Kings Island. The senior tour and LPGA TOUR used to have yearly tournaments here back in the 70's-90's. I'm lucky enough to have grown up in the town (Mason) that this course is located and my dad has been to multiple of the senior tournaments here. I have never beat my dad, as I'm about a 13 handicap and he hovers around the 9 handicap mark. We started on the West and I let a 4 stroke lead shrink down to a 2 stroke lead due to a costly 3 put on the challenging par 5 ninth hole. We stopped at the clubhouse at the turn to grab some refreshments. All three of us bogeyed the 10th hole and then we arrived at the daunting 11th hole (2 north) which was playing 175 yards, wind right to left, flag in the middle left portion of the green. I was first on the tee, put a good swing on it with a 7 iron, felt good leaving the club and was on a good line. We all saw the ball bounce then disappear. My dad shouted loudly asking if that went in, I just thought it was close but behind the flag and out of our sight. After my dad and brother hit their shots we finally all got to the green. Approaching the green none of us saw anything so I started to get that excited butterfly feeling, walked up to the flag and there sat my Titleist DT SOLO in the bottom of the cup. I instantly started screaming as I realized what just happened. Im 26 years old and have been golfing for 16 years and this is my first ever ACE that I've seen I person yet alone hit myself. It made it even more special that my dad (person who introduced me to this game) and younger brother were there to share it with me. It will be a memory I will never forget as long as I play this game. It's also special since my dad bought a dozen Titleist DT SOLO for me and my brother to split and was the ball I was using at the time. I will never again play with that specific ball as I signed and dated it and will
Keep it forever. This among other reasons is why I love this game!!
