We like to say we are bi-coastal because we live on two west coasts ... California and Hawaii... We were staying last week at our Big Island home and playing that day at Hapuna Golf Course in South Kohala. It was a beautiful day, typical for Hawaii with a bit of wind in my face, so a clubbed up a bit on the 5th hole to hit a 7 iron about 135 yards to the hole. My friend Jim and my wife Jan were playing with me. I hit first, saw a bounce and figured the ball rolled to the back the green. I thought I must have used too much club... Jim hit, left of the green and my wife followed his strike hitting just off the right side. When we got to the green we could only see two balls. I was sure I must have hit through the green, but decided to just look in the hole as I walked toward the back of the green. To my great surprise, there was that wonderful sight of my Titleist Pro-V1 looking up at me. With delight and joy I jumped and yelled... "IT'S IN THE HOLE... I got a hole in one !!"
