I'm a competitive amateur golfer with a handicap in the range of about +1. I currently play a 910 D2 that I really like. I have recently hit the 913 (D2 and D3) and loved the feel of the new heads. My question is, what are the differences between the D2 and D3 aside from workability and the size/shape of the heads? Do the trajectories change much between the two ? Does one have more forgiveness and ball speed across a larger area of the face?

For what it's worth, I seem to prefer to feel of the 913 D3.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

    Mark,

In past generations there has been a difference in flight characteritics between the two (D2 higher launch and higher spin and D3 lower launching and lower spin) but with the NEW 913 they both have similar launch conditions.  This has been accomplished with the re-positioning of the Centre of Gravity in a more optimal position.

In regards to ball speed, both drivers now have a new face design which is the fastest face we have ever created and will have increased ball speed across the face resulting in more distance.

In short, think of the D2 as your maximum playability and forgiving driver which has higher inertia and a slight draw bias (due to the location of the CoG) vs the D3 which is your tour inspired workability and control driver with a neutral flight bias.

My recommendation would be to visit a local authorized Titleist Fitter for them to dial in either head with the proper shaft and SureFit Tour Hosel.  If you need some assistance in locating one of the Fitters, please feel free to let us know!
