In an all Titleist Pro V1x golf ball final four at the WGC Accenture Matchplay Championship, Pro V1x loyalist Hunter Mahan topped Titleist brand ambassador Rory McIlroy in the championship match, 2&1.

Despite falling four behind after 10, Rory battled back with a chip-in for eagle at the eleventh and three birdies from the 13th. But Mahan wasn't for capitulating and he fired birdies at two of those holes to match Rory and put himself in position to close out the match at the 17th. Tune back in to Team Titleist later today for a video of what's in Rory's bag!

In the match for third and fourth places, Pro V1x loyalist Mark Wilson bounced back from his semi-final defeat by Rory in the morning to triumph over fellow Pro V1x loyalist Lee Westwood.

Titleist staffer Jbe Kruger shot a final round 3-under 69 to secure victory in confident style at the Avantha Masters in New Delhi on the European Tour. Kruger’s 14-under total put him two shots clear of Pro V1x loyalist Marcel Siem and one other. This was Jbe's first win on the European Tour, building on his previous best third position at the 2010 Africa Open and continuing the momentum from his 9th place finish at the Joburg Open this season.

The 25-year old South African becomes the 399th different winner on the European Tour and moves to 109th in the Official Golf World Rankings.

Rafa Finishes Desert Swing With a Flourish

A stunning opening round of 63 was the foundation on which Rafa Cabrera-Bello's second career European Tour win was built, as he claimed a one shot victory at The Omega Dubai Desert Classic!

His nerveless and bogey free final round of 68, including three birdies on the back nine, secured the biggest win of his career-to-date and catapaulted him from 119 in the Official World Golf Rankings to 60!

Fellow Pro V1x players Lee Westwood and Marcel Siem finished in a tie for the runner's up spot and fourth respectively - as all four of the top spots were occupied by players putting their trust in the performance of Pro V1x.

And just a further shot back at 14-under for the tournament, two Titleist ambassadors shared a tie for fifth place with two others - Rory McIlroy followed up his second place finish in Abu Dhabi and George Coetzee continued his run of form which has seen him rise from #82 in the world at the turn of the year to #66 now!

Titleist was the overwhelming ball of choice at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic with 82 players, more than four times the nearest competitor.

On the PGA Tour, Pro V1 loyalist Charlie Wi matched the best PGA Tour finish of his career when he finished solo second in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, after leading through 54 holes. This was the fifth time Wi has finished runner up, including twice in 2011.

The Dubai Desert Classic in Pictures

The Desert Swing had already created some interesting headlines ahead of its arrival at the Emirates Golf Club for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Titleist Pro V1x loyalists Robert Rock and Paul Lawrie ran out victorious at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship and the Qatar Masters respectively and there are a host of Titleist staffers and ball loyalists vying for the title in Dubai.

The course at The Emirates GC measures 7,301 yards for a par of 72 and at the halfway mark there has been some very aggressive scoring.

Titleist ambassador and world # 2 Rory McIlroy has a share of the lead at 13-under, with fellow staffer Rafa Cabrera-Bello just one shot back. Rafa's phenomenal opening 63 (-9) set the scene for low scoring at the event and he has follwed that up with another sub-par round to be in a very strong position for the weekend.
