Which area of your game needs some extra attention?

I'm having issues in three main areas... #1 is the short game, especially out of bunkers with firm conditions.  #2 would be putting, I hate those 10-15 ft putts that I miss short. #3 would be driving, I'm hitting 'em straight, but too much spin off the driver doesn't let the ball roll out, usually carries 260+ then stops within 5-10 yards.  Some advice with these would be very appreciated, Thanks!

If you look at some of the Champions Tour players, they use rather compact backswings. Also look at some of Moe Norman's swing videos. He has a very short backswing but is deadly accurate with irons. A swing that works like a charm is the Stack N Tilt or the Don Trahan Peak Performance Golf System. Either way there is minimal weight shift during the back swing (and a more compact swing). PPGS is more of a straight back, straight through, and vertical follow through (the clubface is perpendicular to the ground at the halfway point of the backswing and at the same point in the finish) with a limited shoulder turn. Stack N Tilt is still classified as a rotational golf swing but the backswing is more compact. The traditional rotational golf swing with the club being parallel at the top (the BIG 90 degree backswing) causes a lot of lower back problems along with the possibility of swing faults caused by the back foot getting stuck. I've been using a compact backswing with minimal weight shift to the back foot for 2 years now. I actually get more clubhead speed with this and a smooth tempo and the weight shift is just about automatic. Nor have I thrown my lower back out. Check out Revolution Golf. Oh yeah... my area that needs improvement is putting.

I'd like to see some putting drills, as well as Iron-shaping drills too. Also, another member said fairway woods from the fairway, I agree with that 100%

I would like to see the different routines/setup you use for the 3 wood, hybird, approaching a long iron shot, approaching a putt.  If time allows maybe cover different shots out of thick rough at 80-90 yards.

putting and 60 yard shots

I am having major trouble with my woods... When I hit the ball, it seems to go straight for a while and then take a major turn to the right!! Thank you for any tips!!
Here is the scenario. Your ball is in the rough with a decent lie and the pin is about 75 yards away. You have an opening to the green but there are tree limbs about 10-12 feet off the ground on your target line so you have to keep the ball low. How do you keep the ball low to avoid the limbs and get about 75 yards in distance ? What club and technique should be used ?

I get killer distance when leaving the club open a little but it goes 30 yrds off target dead straight. When I correct it I loose 30 to 40 yrds.

Good luck with that! :)

Mike please run a segement on putting, I must be the worse putter in golf history, from tee to green I am a pretty decent player, but when I get on the green that when my trouble starts, I usually shoot in the lower to high 80's and this is after (3) putting at least 8 to 9 greens in a round and some time more than that, I have tried all kind of drills but don't seem to be improving any. My biggest problem is I always come up short, if I have a 10 or 12 foot putt I usually come up about 3 to 4 feet short then I miss the next putt, some time I am so intent on getting the ball to the hole I over hit it and run by the cup another 4 to 5 feet and on the way back guess what? yeah I miss the putt I come up short.

Hi, im 14 and i have a question aboout my iron shots, i hit my driver fine but when i take out my irons i hit them right or i skull them over the green, i have trouble hitting down on the ball.

Thanks,

Hi Chester,

We're close to having all of the segments finished up with Steve Ball, PGA Master Professional, and we should be posting the tips and drills he filmed in the coming days. In the meantime, here is a link to a great tip from TPI Co-Founder Dave Phillips that covers three putting strategies that should help you with your practice: http://www.titleist.com/my-game/videos.aspx#112

Mike:

Can you give us a hint at the topics that were filmed?

I'd also like to see some chipping and putting drills for speed control. For chipping i'd like information on situational golfing and course management around the greens. When to flop, when to pitch and run and how to get better control of the ball when chippig to the hole.
Hello team Titleist I am waiting on the release of the new AP1 712 irons while I am waiting I would like some information prior to ordering, Usually I change out the grips on my clubs from the original grip to the jumbo size grip with three layers of masking tape and one layer of double stick, I know this may change the swing weight of the club slightly but how will it affect the over all performance of the new 712 clubs, will appreciate any recommendations.

Lately, I have been missing my targets when approaching the green. One hole I hang it out to the left ( I am a lefty), the next hole I over-compensate and pull it a little.  It results in me having to pitch on the green and making it very difficult on myself to make par.

Obviously it would be easier to see my swing. But is there anything I can specifically focus on get some more accuracy ?
