Every year my college roomates and I get together for a UCLA Football road game.  This year the plan is to meet for the UCLA-Texas game at Cowboy Stadium in September.  Typically we try to stay at a resort with a golf course that enables us to play a round of golf while the wives are at the spa.  We also like to be able to quickly get into downtown for dinner and drinks.   In reviewing the area I have found 3 possibilities:

    1. Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas: Ideal location that meets above criteria yet may be a little too expensive for some of the guys

    2. Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Hotel & Golf Club at Champions Circle :

Location not bad, yet based on reviews of the hotel and the golf course, may not be up to par

    3. The Westin Stonebriar (Frisco): Reviews of the hotel and golf course are solid yet not being familiar with the area, I don't know if Frisco is too far away to be able to get into downtown.

My questions for the folks familiar with the area are:

    1. Are there any other resorts in the area that meet the above criteria: hotel with golf course and easy access to quality restaurants/bars?  Not limited to Dallas, willing to stay in the Fort Worth area.

    2. Is Frisco too far a commute to allow for dinner/drinks in downtown Dallas

    3. Anyone stay at the Marriott or play the Course there to offer an opinion of the place?

    4. In the likely scenario that I cannot make the above happen and end up at a hotel in downtown Dallas, what are the top 3 public courses to play within 30 minutes of downtown Dallas?

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Oscar
