I have an old Cleveland 485 Tour Action sand wedge that is worn out. Last year I purchased a Vokey BV 56-11spin milled wedge to replace the Cleveland. I find myself hitting a lot more thin shots with the Vokey. My home course is in Southeast KS and our traps tend to have firm sand as opposed to the soft sand in FL. the old Cleveland supposedly has a bounce of 10. I noticed the sole is much flatter than the Vokey BV. I'd like your recommendation for a new sand/56degree wedge with similar sole and bounce as my old Cleveland.

The SM5 56-10 comes in S and M grinds.  S might be closest to your Cleve.   I play an SM4 M grind and it works well for me.  I do play it back in my stance on tight lies.

    Hi Bob,

While I can not speak in great detail about competitor clubs, it sounds like you would require a 56 SW with lower bounce.  Both the 56 M and S have 10 degrees of bounce. The S grind is designed more for individuals looking to hit pitch shots and short shots with a square face, while the M grind is designed more for individuals who hit short shots with more of an open face.

Try to find a local Titleist fitter so you can hit shots with each clubs, but in the mean time think about what type of shots you would like to hit with your 56.

    Thanks,

    Bubba

Bubba & Lou - Thank you for your responses 56-10 with M or S grind are the options I was contemplating. Will try them.
