  1. I got a set of Arccos golf sensors for Christmas. I love the concept and wanted to know if anyone had ever used them and if you had any suggestions or tips to use them.

I've been thinking about purchasing a set of either the Arccos system or the Game Golf system. Anyone used both and have positives and negatives on the systems? Arccos looks like a great system for sure.

I've got the Arccos system and although I've only used it for one round its great. When I play I like to track my stats (fairways hit or which side I missed, greens hit and if I missed long, short, right or left, putts, chips, pitches, sand shots, saves, putts). With the Arccos system it allows me to have those stats in a place after the round where I don't have to transfer the data on to a spread sheet. It also gives me the frequency I hit a given club, distance I hit each club, total distance of putts made and other stats. The system is fairly easy to use when you first open it up. All of the senors except the putter can be installed in any club, the putter senors is special. Once screwed into the grip it only takes a couple minutes to pair the them to your phone. A downside to the Arccos is that it is only compatible with the Iphone (might check if this has changed.) Once they are paired they do not have to be repaired. Using the Arccos system is easy, before using it I downloaded the course at home and once I got to the course turned bluetooth on and was ready to use it within minutes. You do not have to have cellar data on to use it, but the bluetooth does take up battery, so make sure the battery is charged before heading to the course. The system does allow for practice swings and only records the last swing with a given club. When using the system make sure you carry your clubs heads up with the grip facing down and try to make sure they don't bang together. When swinging I never noticed them and didn't feel like they effected my swing. I still kept track of my stats on the course as it was my first time using it and was surprised at how well it worked. After the round I went back and compared the results and it was only a couple shots off and the location of the majority of the shots was spot on. I did have to go back through and make adjustments, but it also serves as a way to analyze the round and learn from it. Overall I've been vary happy with the system and look forward to using it more this year. If you've got any questions let me know.

I looked at both the Arccos system and the Game Golf. Both had their pluses and minuses. Arccos seems to be more feature packed, but each sensor has a battery (will be costly when time to replace), it requires bluetooth (going to suck your phone battery), and only works on an iPhone. The Game Golf is less real time and you have to tap the unit before each shot. I couldn't decide, but my wife surprised me by deciding for me. She looked at my Amazon wish list and just picked one. So I now have the Game Golf. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but being a stats nerd, I'm excited to see all the detail I will get from it. I'll come back with an update after I get to use it.

I also received the Arccos for Christmas. I played about 6-7 rounds and returned it for a Zepp. I previously had been using Swing by Swing app which actually does everything the Arccos system does. I love the Zepp buy the way. Instant feedback on my swing faults with tips to correct them. Biggest problem with Arccos is it misses putts so your continuously checking to make sure it's scoring your round correctly.

I was not aware that the Zepp system tracked your stats -- I am under the impression it is more swing related and a training aid. I thought they serve totally different purposes. Maybe I am incorrect please clarify. Thanks.
