I received two sleeves of golf balls each with two golf balls in them. Titleist NXT Tour S and Titleist NXT Tour. I was to test them on a coarse and submit my evaluation of them. However, the paper that contained the web address to submit the results I must have lost.  Does anyone know how I can obtain that information?

Hmmm... how'd you get them?  It would be nice to be selected to be a part of an R&D.  I am on my 17th year of playing and never been part of one.  I honestly think I can make a good evaluation.

    Hi Carlo Angelo,

The good news is that all Team Titleist members are considered for any potential upcoming product test panel opportunities. Just make sure to complete your profile and keep it up-to-date.

Keep in mind, each product test panel varies in size and we do our best to include as many members as possible in the different opportunities but the selection criteria can also vary from panel to panel.

I'm not sure what is on the horizon right now but hopefully we'll have some more opportunities in the near future.

    Talk to you soon,

    Mike

Thanks for giving insight Mike.  I was just saying.  Indeed, hopefully I would get chosen on one.  It would be great to be part of a R&D.

    More power!

I see that some people received 2 sleeves of golf balls.  I only received one, not sure if i was supposed to get another or not.  The ball in the sleeve is the best ive ever played and was wondering if I could find out which ball it is.

The ball you received in the mail is suppose to be close in comparison to the ball you currently use.

The "Test" golf balls are suppose to be similar to or the new version of the golf balls you currently use

It is common to get one sleeve.  After completing the survey be patient. They sent me a sleeve of balls with the markings on them a few weeks after I completed my R&D.

    Hi Mike:

Just completed the golf ball prototype 1 survey and the link worked fine.  I thought the prototype ball was terrific.  Will we eventually know what it was?  Thanks.

    Frank

  13. I tested the prototype ball Tuesday as well. Great feel with added distance. Played 6 holes and no scuff or cuts!

  14. Was wondering how you can get one of these prototype balls.  I've heard nothing but AMAZING things about it, and I'd love to be able to give them a test and leave some feedback!

    Hi Matthew,

Thanks for the posts and interest in participating in the test panel.

We make every effort to include as many Team Titleist members as possible but as you can imagine, we can't include everyone in every test panel.

As for the selection process, all Team Titleist members are considered when we have opportunities like this but the final selection will vary depending on the test panel.

Also, the more you participate and the more engaged you are with Team Titleist, from posting in the discussions and adding blog comments to completing your profile, the better your chances are at potentially opening the doors to these Team Titleist rewards.

And just to clarify, the golf balls that were sent out as part of the product test panel are part of our ongoing golf ball R&D process and are just test golf balls.  We are constantly developing prototype golf balls and through the evaluation process we review the feedback we receive to continue along the R&D path.

Thanks again for being a part of Team Titleist.

    Best,

    Mike

I've played 54 holes, plus a short game practice session with these balls and was able to input my opinion based upon that.  I am assuming I had the ProV1 prototype, as this ball spun significantly more than I desired.  That's been my experience in the past, I much prefer the ProV1x for my game.  I'd have loved to have tried those as I think they'd compare more favorably for my game.

The website is up and running and accepting our assessments.

Thanks Titleist for allowing us all to be part of the prototype testing.

I received a sleeve of prototype balls this week which I tested and provided the feedback in the survey. I noticed that it did not require me to log in. The instructions indicated that I need to, was this an error or a computer glitch? In any case, I signed with my email ID in the comment field towards the end of the survey.

I enjoyed doing it for a company I respect and trust.

I feel honored to have been in 2 ball test s in Houston  WindRose  and Kingwood

I did feel that the promo test balls played well  in both trials   and since I'm a senior  I have different out look on the balls

1st  how they play  distance, carry and putt     Velocity is a great ball   and is priced correctly

I'm thankful for the chance that I had   and  to had a say so  in how the Velocity performed.

I did try the new Black labelled SOLO  and have 2 comments

1st the new solo feel more solid off the driver   , good carry and distance

2nd felt firm when i putted        I not a fan of a soft ball when i putt , soft balls just don't feel right

I'll be sure to buy another box of the new SOLO's   for the price   probably the best ball on the market

    Hi Mike.

I really enjoyed testing the Prototype balls with red numbers. There were some signifcant differences from the ProV1X I play now as I compared them on every type of shot from tee to in the hole. The first thing I noticed was the color difference of the ball as it was a more dull white than the current ProV1X I play. I wish there were more areas to cover and more questions to answer in the survey.

I am still amazed that ball fitting for the general public seems to start with the driver when in reality it should start with the putter, short game and back to the driver.  All these box stores have ball fitting events and measure with drivers only. I think this hurts the golfer as it just tries to show a longer drive. Balls should be fit first in the scoring areas of the game for the golfer to shoot lower scores.

Just my two cents worth but maybe you could add to the ball surveys more detailed questions in regards to putting and around the green shots.  For example putter sound, putter  feel, and short and long distance control off the putter. Plus chipping, and other greenside shots. I think these are the areas people would benift the most in shooting lower scores and balls do make a big difference.

I do get asked often to try new clubs , balls, and training aids from a fellow member of my club here in Ohio who is a major golf club designer and manufactuer.  I did do a comparrison to the Titlesit prototype red number ball to their new prototype ball and the Titleist beats it in all areas.

Thank you again for allowing me to participate in this ball survey. I enjoy trying to find any edge over my competition no matter how small it may be.

LOL.  I know what you mean about the weather cooperating.  Our weather here in Chicago is balmy in comparison.

Last year I was fortunate to test a couple of samples.  The weather during the test period was horrible--cold, wet, and extremely windy.  I'm not sure I came away with a true feel for all the capabilities but I did notice a huge difference in ball flight in the wind.

I received my sleeve of balls today too.  They 'look' like Pro V1/V1x's, but feel slightly different than what I'm used to seeing from those models.  Having hit them yet, just meaning 'feel' by touching it.

My profile is that I typically play 'tour' balls, current one is Hex Tour, and these are comparison balls - so I'd expect they are similar to that (meaning ProV1/V1x), rather than a NXT Tour or Velocity ball.

I'm playing Friday, Saturday and Sunday...so, will have a chance to put this new ball through the paces!

My name is Mary W.  I live in central Texas.  It was cloudy and even rained on us during our round.  I compared the new prototype ball to a Lady ball by another manufacturer today.  I have been playing the Lady ball for about a year with pretty good results.  The prototype went at least 15 yards further off the tee.  My long irons and my hybrid all went further and straighter.  I seemed to be able to control the ball better.  It had a very soft feel off the wedges and definitely checked up quicker on the greens.  It came off the putter soft.   I cut 11 strokes off my score today.  WOW!! I love, love, love this golf ball.

Thank you so very much for including me in the test.  Can't wait to see this golfball on the market.

Hey Mary my name Tim L. and I  have just finish playing 9 holes and I would have to agree with you. This ball is awesome....the only problem I have is still too much sidespin for me off the driver, off the irons, wedges, hybrid, and putter just awesome...even though I hit the prototype ball  7-10 yards further than my current ball (pro v1)...maybe the new pro v1x might be my new ball with less side spin and the softness of the  new pro v1  :D

I Recieved A Sleeve Of Pro V Prototype Balls In The Mail. Really Surprized Me I'm Not What You Would Call A Pro V Fan Or Live In An Area That Is Over Populated About 40k Population. Played One Ball As Titleist Directed In Instructions. Played One Ball for 27 Holes As Then It Was Toast. Ok Here Goes, This Ball Did Not WOW Me On Distance, But Only About 3-5 Yards Shorter On Driver. Iron Distance Was About The Same. No WOW Factor As Far As Distance Goes. However Shots Were Straighter, Approach Distance Was More Predictable With Long Irons And Hybrids, Approch Shots Were "Where Do I Want This Ball To Go And Do" And It Was Just As I Wanted. The Third Ball I'm Saving for Club Championship Under Lock And Key, Gotta Keep It Safe And Warm. I Just Want To Know The Name Of This Ball And When It Will Be Released, Then I Will Be A Titleist Convert. Until Till Then I Will Continue To Play golf balls from other manufacturers As Course Conditions Dictates. Can You Send Me A Dozen for More Intense Evulation???????

    Hey MIke

Have all the test balls been sent out? I have a coupe guys I play with my partner who has complete Titleist Clubs and bag and plays the Pro V as well as I do.  He just got test balls and loves them I was hoping I just had not got mine yet.

    Thanks

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for the post. The final wave should start hitting mailboxes next week. I can't confirm any names on the list but we try to include as many Team Titleist members as possible in opportunities like this. Thanks again.

Funny, I just got a sleeve today...called prototypes.  They look like ProV1x's.  In the line on the side it says "Test".  Can't wait to try them out.  The website I have is probably not the same.

I played 18 holes yesterday with the test ball versus a medley of ProV1X's, ProV1's and NXT's.  The test ball is longer than any of the other balls and spins well.  I'll play a different course next week in the same format.  But, so far, the black/red ball is very very good.

My friend got a sleeve of the Red and i usually play the prov1x so he let me try one.  I liked it, but not totally sold.   I played the regular pro v1 for years ane went to the X this year.  Feels like the new red is for higher swing speed players (I am only 105-110 with driver).  Ball was releasing with irons where I am used to it stopping on its mark.  I will prolly end up trying the regular ProV1 when these come to market.

I played with the black numbered prototype and had a great round.Recorded 3 more birdies and had no double bogeys with this ball. What a great round. the ball has an amazing feel and gave me some added confidence. Can't wait to buy them.

    Thanks Titleist your guys Rock.

Got my sleeve and tryed them out yest. Been playing penta tp5's this year. It was fairly nice here in ohio had a little wind though. Was suprised to see the test ball was probably about 5-10 yards longer off the driver, consistently than the penta. Really shined into the wind for me was def. less spin off the driver and fairway woods than the penta. Was a little longer off the irons but felt a little softer than the penta. The spin on wedges and short chips seemed about the same as the penta for me. Which is the main reason I have been playing the penta. The durability was very good. Loved the ball more distance where i needed it in the long game and real good spin around the greens.Wife said not to like it to much she wasn't lettin me spend that much on balls haha. If it comes to market will def. be buying some.

Just got mine yesterday and they appear to be the same ball I tested before but we'll see when I use them. The previous one's were great

I received a sleeve of Prototype PV1X's on 10/10/12.  I conducted the testing on 10/12/12.  When I went to the website, there was a message that the survey was complete.  Thanks for the balls.

I found how to give you a response. I sent it in and really enjoyed playing with the balls you sent me. I feel I shot a better game because it caused me to consentrait more. Send me another sleeve and I may shoot below par. Joe D.

I received a sleve of #1 Titleist golf balls from R&D. I went to the survey site and it said the survey site wasn't valid. If it is. The balls I played with were not good. Too much over spin on the draw or fade. I played a ProV1x as a comparison and there was no comparison. The balls felt like a rock when putting and the distance wasn't as long as my comparison ball. I hop this helps. I would really like to see the old blata ball come back. They didn't last as long but the control and spin was great. Bob Brock

They were good off the T, great off irons, poor off woods. On the green very good.

After a while they scuffed up , making them harder to play.

I received 3 Titleist golf balls  to test, but the URL I was given does not take me to the "feedback via short survey" so I'll post it here and hope Titleist reads this post.

I tested the prototype and gave one to my friend to test.  I am a 9 handicap and my friend is an 8.  I hit a long ball, but my friend has lost yardage over the years, but has a killer short game.  Our observations:

Me:  The ball is very long and reasonably straight.  I average 250 yds with the driver, but had 4 drives over 270 yards with the prototype. My short game sucks so I was not able make  any observation as to control and spin.  I usually play the NXT tour, but would gladly switch to this ball because of its performance off of the tee and with long to mid irons.  It has a feel during putting that is soft, but true.

My buddy:  He reports that his swing speed had slowed to the point that he didn't think this ball was matched very well to his loss of distance.  He loved the spin he was able to put on the ball in the short game.  The ball stopped and checked with his wedges and hit and rolled out with his 8 iron bump and run.

Hope this helps.  If you want to send me dozen gratis, I'll take them.

Hi Team Titleist and Titleist Staff/R&D Dept!

I am so happy that I received a sleeve of prototype Pro V1x golf balls in the mail today! This is my first time getting something from TT, only being on for 1 year so far! I am excited to try them out and am honored to be able to test possible new 2013 equipment. Thanks to Titleist R&D!

If my prototype ball that I tested goes into production I would like to know what Titleist ball it will be. The address was http://survey.titleist.com/s3/TitleistPrototype1 also the test printed on the ball was in black.I think the test ball over all fit my swing speed around 96 mph and also improved my accuracy in the fairway, but the best improvment was putting. The test ball out performed the prov1 and also the hx tour. During the survey nothing was mentioned about putting.

First I want to thank Titleist for the opportunity to test the new ball. Found it to be a great product . Don't know what Titleist did to improve it but great companies that produce great products always find ways to improve.

Thank you for the sleeve of prototype balls.  I enjoyed hitting them, they seemed to be just a little longer and the feel was about the same.  They reminded me of the Titleist balata balls in the sense the cover has a tendency to peel with a short iron or a crisp short shot.  I have not had this problem with the ProV1 and ProV1x.  If this is to be the new ProV1 I commend your effort, however I will stock up on the current ProV1 because it is more durable.  Jim Wilson  62 year old golfbumguy.
