  1. Does the numbers on the Titlest golf balls still relate to compression rating.  Long ago the red numbers indicated a 90 compression ball and the black meant 100 compression ball.  Is this still true for the ProV1 and ProV1x balls?

    That's a great question. I'd like to hear the answer to that one from Titleist as well.

    Good question guys,

    You are correct that back in the days when golf balls were available in a choice of compressions, it was our convention to use red player numbers on the 90 compression versions and black numbers on the 100s.

    Today, however, the compression of a golf ball is engineered into the product to produce a specific set of playing characteristics. To that end, compression options are no longer offered, so the color of the player number is just an aesthetic decision on our part.
