Team please forgive me for thou has sinned??? I was given a box of srxn Z STAR, I tried them Saturday ,I was never comfortable hitting them from the very first tee shot ,finally. I put one OB one the nineth hole .Honestly i was maybe just a little relieved,I finished the round with a trusty PROV1x. I never got the feel for the ball, real shiny , spun to much for my liking. I had heard that they were the equal to the PROV1s ,I didn't see it ,it felt like they overreached trying to be a proV alternative...Anyway that's my thoughts......thanx ...madgolfer.

Well, at least you made the point that there is benefit to not swapping balls based on what is on sale or found on the last hole. ...It is the one piece of equipment you use on every hole for every stroke.

I once grabbed a few dozen older Z Stars for a shag bag. I got them for the yellow color so they wouldn't get mixed up with other golfers' on the chipping area. I ended up not liking the softer feedback on shots and how my chips would have very little roll out. I gave them all to my brother who was starting out at the time and got a bunch of Pro V1 Practice balls instead.

I've played swoosh RZN and bstone eSeries balls and liked them, but have never been able to bring myself to purchase any Srixons. After reading some posts from Mike D., I've finally decided to go the ProV1 route and will not deviate from that unless I find it necessary to switch to the ProV1x.

I tried a box last year because I got them at 50% off. Played a round and then moved them to my scramble tournaments only pile.

The thing I really don't like about that ball is if you look closely there's almost a seam line going around it. Just looks wrong. They also feel too soft. Yep , you can't go wrong with a pro v1. Pure quality!!!
