    the X....

in all honestly I'm not sure, I found the x to be a harder ball when hit, but gained more distance with, where as the standard Pro V is much softer and to me feels nicer to strike.

As I understand them, and I could be wrong, The ProV1 is a higher spin ball that can be worked better, the ProVx is lower spin for less workability. Consequently, the ProVx is a straighter ball off the tee because of less spin. The ProV1 will land and check or spin back on well struck short iron shots to the green. The current generation Prov's are significantly softer than previous generations. Hope that helps, and if anyone thinks I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me.

The Prov1x is designed for less spin off the longer clubs, like the driver, which will help hit straighter tee balls. Also the Prov1x will produce a higher ball flight compared to the Prov1, which can take yards off your drive from the steep angle of descent. The Prov1 has more spin of the longer clubs to help you be able to shape your shots, plus a more penetrating ball flight which will roll out more for more distance. I play the Prov1 because of the ability to shape shots off the tee.

I am a senior golfer with a slow swing speed but I find that the ProV1x is better suited for my game than the ProV because I get longer drives that stay in the fairway and the spin factor with wedge shots are about the same with either ball.
