Titleist 712 CB 2-iron

Hey,

Just ordered my 712 CB 2-iron.  I cannot wait until it gets in.  I know I am one of the only people that likes to play the 2-iron, but I have always liked them.

I guess since there was not that many of them being used is why it takes 2 weeks to come in.

I was looking to add a 2-iron to my bag anyways.  I started doing research and I was amazed at how few manufacturers actually make a 2-iron anymore.  It really does not matter anyways, because at least Titleist makes one.

Joey R.

I'm on the same boat.  If only Titleist made a MB 2-Iron.  I am currently torn between the CB 2-Iron or just going with a VR Pro blade 2-Iron.

I haven't really been a fan of hybrids as well.  None seem to appease my eye at address.

I did not try the VR Pro Blades, but I did try the TM Tour Preferred MB and MC.  They were okay, but I liked the MB better than the MC.  After hitting the CB and the MB back to back for a while, I definitely liked the Titleist CB better.  And then putting the Project X shaft in them made it ridiculously easy to hit.

I have always had a 2-iron since i started playing golf and I love them.  So much easier to work with than a Hybrid.  I tried a Hybrid last year and it lasted a couple of months and then I sold it.  I never liked it and it just did not look right to me at address.

I will let you know how I like it after I get it in if you like.  I have no idea when it will get in.  Probably next week sometime.

I've got the cb 2 iron and have bagged it every round this year, great off the tee on shorter par 4s, I play 4-pw MBs in the rest of my set (4 iron 1* strong). Give it a go, even if just a training aid - makes you work a lot harder.

I agree.  I ordered it and I cannot wait for it to come in.

The course I play on most of the time is really short, so I hardly ever use the Driver now.  It will be a nice addition to the bag.

I also have the 712 CB 2 iron and it's a great club. I don't think mine took 2 weeks for it to come in though.

I ordered mine with the DG TI X-100 and 1 degree strong, 17*. It's a great club and very versatile. I use it off the tee when it's narrow and short also use it a lot when I'm spraying the ball with my driver to punch out from under the trees.

I just wish Titleist made a 712 AP2 2 iron which is a little bit more forgiving.

I went with the vr pros. They've been treating me well. I love the 2 iron and wouldnt trade it for a set with out.

Hey there, been searching high and low for a Titleist 2 Iron. do you recommend anywhere to look?

Thanks for your time.

Hi mark, just go and see your local titleist dealer who will be able to get you a 712 CB 2 iron!

It is one of the reasons i am going with titleist and getting the CB's over the MB's . As for other reasons I am sure I don't have to tell you why .

Yea Mark, I went to a local golf store and had them order me one through Titleist.  Of course nobody had a 2-iron that I could hit, so I actually went through the fitting process with the CB 6-iron and then ordered my 2-iron that way.

I just got it in last Friday.  I have not had a chance to hit it yet, but I am going to hit it this week.  I am looking forward to it.  I will let you know how it works.

I will tell you this.  I order a 712 CB 2-iron with a Project X shaft and it cost me $140.  It was 125 for the club and an extra 15 for the shaft.

hey thanks a ton for the help. Please let me know how you make out with it. I want to get one ASAP but would love some feed back on one. Cheers

My 3,4,5 irons are cb's and I really like them (my short irons are mb's). Right now I have no 3 iron in the bag but a 19 degree hybrid which leaves a 15-25 yd gap. I'm thinking about ordering a 2 iron. Do you think this would be helpful?

I have MB 4 iron bent 1 degree strong to 23* and then play a 2 iron at 18* - distance is ok, I might have been better bending the 4 iron 2 degrees strong and the 5 iron 1 degree strong, but we will see how it pans out when I get out playing a lot after work.

Ok, finally got a chance to hit the 2-iron.  Right after ordering it, I hurt my foot and have not been able to play for over a month.  The pressure in turning in my foot was way too much pain to deal with for more that 1 or 2 balls.

Love it, hits like a champ and does exactly like I want.  Really easy to hit and goes a long way with some extra roll on the end.

Hope that you give it a try and like it as much as I do.  Great club.
