910 vs. 913

Planning on buying a new driver for this next season. I really don't want to spend too much but I will if it is really worth it. The fitter at my local store recommended me the 913 D3 with the Diamana Blue Shaft (Regular Flex). I really like it but it is very expensive. I was wondering if I should just save the money and buy a pre-owned 910 D3 with the old Diamana Blue Shaft (Regular Flex). I was just wondering if the difference between the two clubs is big enough to force me to buy the new 913 or if I should just go with the cheaper 910. Any suggestions will help. Thanks!

I played the 910 D2 with a Kai'li Diamana stiff shaft and went to the 913 D2 with a Phenom 70 stiff shaft and noticed quite a bit of difference. The sound is different off the 913, just a more muted but solid sound and the ball comes off the face hotter than the 910. Also, misses in the heel or toe area go farther as well. All that to say, I think the 913 performs better but if you really need to save the money, the 910 is a great option as well. Hope that helps!

Well said, Randy. Henry, save up some money and go with the 913. I bought the D3 in December and it is a phenomenal piece of equipment. As Randy said, super solid sound and feel with incredible speed off the face. I've played nothing but Titleist drivers since the 975 series and, barring the addition of an adjustable hosel from the 909 to the 910, I honestly think the improvement from the 910 to the 913 is the biggest leap they've ever made. I actually skipped out on the 910 because I thought my 909 was a better club.

There really is not a big enough difference especially if they recommended you for the same shaft you can get in a 910. I have the whole 910 series in my bag and love it. The only difference between the 910 and 913 is the look and the face of the club. On the face of the 913, there is a new added material towards the sides of both sides of the face that makes miss-hits more forgiving. Other than that, they are the same.

I moved up to the 910 from the 905 and Love it,

I bought it on E bay for a buck 50,

The question for yourself is the extra distance, if any is worth $ 250,

If you have a chance to go for the 913, do so.  It is an improved 910.  I myself used the 910D2 Kai'li Stiff shaft for the past two years.  I told myself that I will skip the 913 and wait for the next one since I am still satisfied with the 910.  But after trying the 913D2 Kai'li Stiff (same shaft), the monitor showed some good numbers.  I had the opportunity to upgrade my driver so I took it!  You just have to take advantage of what is there...

Would you rather be driving a 2013 BMW than a 2010 BMW???

Good luck!

I recently purchased the 910D3 following the release of the 913's.  I hit both on a launch monitor and differences between the two, for me at least, we're negligible.  However, the 910 was $100 less so I ended up going with that.  I just couldn't justify spending the extra $100 to have the "new" model.  That being said, I absolutely love my 910D3 and it goes perfect with my 910f which was essentially free thanks to a great day at a scramble event resulting in  $250 in pro shop gift certificates.

I'm  also contemplating getting a hybrid and, if i do, will likely get the 910h instead of the 913h, solely based on price.

It's really curious to read all the opinions about the 910 v 913. The opionions go both ways, so it's hard to say  one is better than the other. I got my 910D2 last fall and I do hit it straighter than the CG Launcher that I was hitting, although I have lost about 20yds. in distance with the 910D2. I'm not complaining about the loss in distance since I'm in the short grass more with the 910 than with the Launcher. The913 is supposed to be more forgiving than the 910, but I don't have a problem with that, I'd just like to get my distance back, along with the accuracy of the 910. I'm planning on going to the Demo Days here next month, to see if I'm hitting the wright shaft. If I can get the extra yrds. back, and still have the accuracy in the 913 with a different shaft I'll buy one.

The Diamana Blue won't be common in a 910.  Most seem to be Kai'li, Ilana, and Bassara.  Did see a couple of D.Whites.  Good luck!.  Buying a used 910 and then buying a Blue shaft to swap will be almost as much as a new 913 with that shaft.

Try eBay.  910s are going for $150-180.

I picked up a 910F 19* with Bassara A flex for $78 a year ago.

I won a 910H 27* with Bassara R flex for $81 shortly after that.

Shortened both by an inch, installed Winn Lite Dri Tac grips and set the Surefit to A3.  I'm getting pretty deadly on the 155-190 yard par 3s and approach shots with them and a 9 wood.

The nice thing about used clubs is you don't feel guilty about modifying them.

Are the SUREFIT hosels/shafts compatible between the 910 and 913 drivers?  I was hopeful Titleist wouldn't assume the quick obsolescence of accessories that Apple uses to exploit their consumers.  ;-)

Thanks.
