Fluffy sand would usually require a fully open face.  Wet or coarser sand would require less open face because you need a little extra help digging.

If you play a fully open face for a normal bunker shot, I'd go half open.

Great tip RC.  I usually play nice sand with an open face, and my shots are coming out thin in this wet and hard early season stuff.  I'll crank it half open and see how it goes.  Should I also square up more?  With a fully open face I usually play with my body very open as well.

A 56/10 would work better in wet sand vs a 56/12.

I find it easier to use a 60-07 out of a wet bunker.  Also, the Vokey 64-07 is nice if you have to pop it up. 

I have two sand wedges in my bag (the one with my Snake Eyes Q3I iron set and a SV Tour 54/12.  The former has 12 deg of bounce and a wide bottom so it works well in the fluffy stuff.  The latter works in 90 percent of the bunkers I play and it works reasonable in the wet bunkers (key thing is to slap the sand). 

I found that the 62-07 is the bomb out of wet and hard bunkers and also works in the fluffy stuff.

I know this is a bit late, here if you play in the morning you have wet sand all year.

I just got a new wedge, 60/10, the old one was 60/10, sole width about the same, V grooves in both. The new one seems to be a bit heavier and it brings the ball out of wet sand much better.

I just minimized my Vokeys to 54-11 (bent to 55-12) and 62-07. Both of these work well in wet sand and soft sand.

I constructed a Snake Eyes 600W 60/10 wedge and used it for about a year and it did OK in wet sand. A Cleveland CG15 DSG 58 is also a good club out of wet sand (but it has its limitations and one of them was hitting off a tight lie).

(less open). You also have to remember your post is 7 months + old. My wedge setup is 50-08 (bent to 51), 54-11 (bent to 55) and 62-07. My 9 iron is 45 deg. In wet sand, I generally hit a cut shot or square face (with an open stance). I'll do an open face blast in soft sand (and, yes, I can hit the 9 iron out of soft sand for a long shot). I'm one of those 3 percent that practices bunker shots regularly.
