Has anyone tried the KBS-Tour C-taper?
How are them launching? Spin?
I am getting a new iron set and was considering these shafts.

Ok, thanks for the help.
I spin my current irons a lot, my 7 iron is about 9500 rpm?
Is that to much?
I've tried the C-Taper X-flex, compared to my usual X-100's. They didn't feel too bad. My launch and spin were good. BUT...I'm sticking to my X-100's.
Ok,
So i maybe should try these shafts?
Im considering the new MB´s with the C-Tapers.
Could them bring my spin down?
Ryan, I play the apt 710 and I'm one of those people you referenced above that gets too much spin and too high a ball flight with the ap2/s300 combination. I've been hitting other shafts/clubs the past 3 weeks and am close to moving away from the ap2. Today, I hit the C-Taper for the first time (in a TM MC) and absolutely loved it. My backspin was in the 5600 range and sidespin around 300 with a ball speed of 120 and a launch angle of around 17. My question: instead of replacing these irons, if you were me would you consider changing the shafts to the c-taper? Would I be able to ship these to Titleist to do so? And lastly, do you think it would likely lower my spin and launch a bit over the s300s? Many thanks.
Ok thanks for all the help.
What flex should I use? I have a driver SS of around 108-110 mph.
Is there any other shafts that give about the same low launch and spin?
David Browning I've tried the C-Taper X-flex, compared to my usual X-100's. They didn't feel too bad. My launch and spin were good. BUT...I'm sticking to my X-100's.
Hi
Can you post your numbers? Ball speed, launch and spin with both shafts? Also, which head were you hitting? I've got some AP2 with C-Taper X on order and I'm just curious. I've been playing 710MB with PX Satin 7.0 and I was looking for an ever so slightly lower spinning shaft but with better feel.
Thanks
For what its worth, the x100's do play softer than the c-taper in x flex. If you want a more accurate comparison, compare the x100's to the c-taper X soft stepped once.
We have tested the C Typre extensively due to the hype and the nice looks, a lot of people want to play clubs/shafts because the look nice. In the right club and swing combnation they are great, for Steve Stricker they work great in the AP2's, we have tried them in the AP2's and for some people it worked and for others not.
I had them in S flex in MP 63's and they did not work for me, the reason I used S flex is that they play about 1 flex more stiff than normal KBS Tour. The problem was in the longer irons where the flight was to low. I put my KBS tour's back in and they work very well with the MP 63's.
I the replaced the PX 6.0 Flighted in my CB1 irons with the C Typre's. this is one of the best combinations we have tested with the C Typre's. It is like shooting arrows. the Clubs are MOI weighted and not swing weight weighted. so the 3 irons is D2 and the PW at D6. I
also have them in my Miura wedges 53 and 57 degrees and they work very well. we ahve now tested C Typre in the new MB2 irons. like the CB1's they are fantastic combination where the KBS Tour (smoke) in the MB2's showed some dispersement issues.
So in the right combination with the right player, they are great, but they are not for everyone. Our view is that people play them to stiff. Dont hard step or soft step them!
