913F v. 913F.d Low Spin

What are the true strengths, benefits, or differences between the 913F v. 913F.d Low Spin?  I assume the 913F is the more versatile of the two fairways as it may be better suited for fairway and rough shots while the 913F.d Low Spin is meant to be more of an alternative to the driver off of a tee.

I currently have a 906F4 in 13.5 loft and looking to get a higher launch with a 15 degree 3 wood and I am puzzled between the upcoming options.

If a Titleist club concierge could elaborate, that would be great.

John,

The previous 910F and Fd options were more like how you described the 913 models above.  The newer 913Fd low spin is more versatile then the previous 910Fd, but know that it will play better for the player who spins the ball too much.  The 913Fd low spin will launch the ball higher then the 910Fd, but spin the ball less.  The 913F will have the same launch as the 910F, but they both launched higher then the Fd models.  I would recommend that if you don't have a spin issue with your fairway metals, the 913F would be a better option.

John,

In my fittings and my personal 913F-d I have found about 300 rpm's of spin difference between F and F-d models with loft and shaft being equal.  I agree with Cameron that the new 913 F-d is more playable from all conditions than its predecessor 910F-d was... both great clubs just small subtle improvements.  More playable and a thinner (better to me) looking hosel make it an upgrade.  Fit correctly you should be able to play both effectively and most of my customers I get them in the one that gives them more confidence and fits their particular needs/wants from a 3 wood.

Thank you both for your responses.  Since I am already a low ball hitter, I think I am leaning towards the 913F.  I tend to make more of a sweeping swing with my fairways with little divot and usually do not have an issue with the ball ballooning from my fairway woods.  I think the 913Fd might noy spin enough and fall out of the sky down range.  Can't wait to give them both a try!
