The best option is to go get fit by a professional on a launch monitor. It's all about the numbers.

Evan, at the top of the screen is a menu item "Golf Shops & Fitting Locations." The new Titleist 915 driver is about to come out and I'd suggest that if at all possible let a fitter give you the right club, shaft, and settings that will give you the best performance possible.

    Evan,

I agree with both Chris and Allen that getting fit with the correct club, shaft and settings for your swing is the best approach.  The nice part is that with a good fitter, they will take the time to work with you to find the correct combination for you.  Best of luck as you go through the process.

Our product cycle is every two years and we alternate metalwoods and irons.  In November, we are due to release the 915 metalwoods.  Our two tour facilities have started fitting for the 915's, and the three Performance Vans will start fitting for them in two weeks.  The Regional fitters, Advanced Fitters and our Tech Reps will start fitting for the 915 metalwoods by the middle of October. Here is the link to fitters:  http://www.titleist.com/find-a-golf-shop/ and the link to fitting events:  http://www.titleist.com/events/

Read an article that Adam Scott just put the 915 in his bag permanently because of his new found distance.  From what I am hearing it will be worth you wait and I totally endorse proper fitting.  I get fitted for all my Titleist clubs.  The 915D is going in my bag this year.

Chuck, I was watching the tournament last week, and the announcers mentioned that Adam Scott said that he didn't mind too much when Rory M was out driving him by 20-30 yds. since he was such a long hitter, but now R Mc is out driving him by 50 yds. and Adam wasn't going to put up with that. Looks like the 915 took care of Adam's distance problem since he's got it in his bag now to stay. Looks like the 915 is going to be much longer than other models.

Get a good fitter, a must do. I just got fit for 913-d2 bass area shaft, best club I have owned. All clubs are Titleist  as well as the bag, they don't get better than Titleist

Richard; Did you mean that you got the "Bassara" shaft? The Bassara shaft is a good light shaft. I have two Bassara 50 shafts. One in Reg. flax in a 913D2, and one in a "A" flex in a 910D2.

I am just counting the days until we all have an opportunity to put the 915's in play.  Looking forward to getting a 915D3 in the bag.... it's not that I don't love my 913D3, but everybody likes a shiny new club to play with!
