Are the Rogue shafts being offered the same as the tour issued ones and if they are the same is there a up charge?

James; You can take this for what it's worth, since I ask my club repair shop owner the same question yesterday (10-1-14). I was having him install a new grip on my Scotty GoLo-s, and told him that I'm planning on getting the 915D2, and that I have been hearing a lot about the new Rogue shaft. He told me that the Rogue was a good shaft, but was not the same Rogue that the pros play. He said the  Tour Rogue Shaft that the pros play is a $900 shaft. I think my mouth flew open since I didn't have any idea that they even made shafts that were that expensive.

Thanks for the question regarding which Rogue shafts will be available in 915.  There seems to be some confusion out there about Rogue so let me clear a few things up.

Titleist will offer the Rogue Silver 110MSI 60/70 and Rogue Black 95MSI 60/70/80 shafts both stock and through custom order for no up-charge.  These shafts will be available in X,S,R flexes (some combinations are custom order).

Titleist will also offer the Rogue Silver 125MSI 60/70 shaft in TX flex via custom order for an up-charge (suggested retail up-charge of $200, so suggested retail driver price of $699).

The Rogue Silver 110MSI and Rogue Black 95MSI shafts are not yet listed on the Aldila website.  They will be listed and commercially available for sale through Aldila around November 1st.

The Rogue Silver 125MSI shaft is available from Aldila.

All Rogue shafts (125MSI, 110MSI, 95MSI) use aerospace grade graphitic fiber which provides them with excellent feel and control. The higher the MSI number, the stiffer the material.  Very few players need the 125MSI material.  Very few players will be able to tell the difference between the 125MSI and the 110/95MSI shafts.  Many shafts currently in play on Tour use fiber in the 65MSI range.

The 125MSI material is very expensive and limited in supply.  That is why Aldila is only selling a limited number of shafts for a super premium price.

All the Rogue shafts that Titleist offers in the 915 (125MSI, 110MSI and 95MSI) are being seeded on the Tour.  Said another way, they are all "real deal" Tour shafts, not proprietary designs made just for Titleist.  These are all premium, high performance golf shafts and we are happy to be able to partner with Aldila to make them available in the 915 product.

Sorry for the long note.  I hope that clears things up!

Sounds like an ask me shaft selection. What happen to the Aldila Tour Blue/Green from last year? Or to put it another way, what caused those shafts to fall our of favor?

Thanks for the reply that clears up a lot for me and helps with my selection process for ordering the new 915 driver.

  11. Chris, I too am looking forward to the new 915 D2 driver.  I have the 913 D2 with a Graphite Design DI-5 R2 shaft and love the feel of this shaft.  I was thinking of getting the new 915 with same shaft in a regular flex (i am a 9 hc index and swing speed 85-90).  Can you tell me how this shaft would compare in feel and flight with this new Rogue shaft that is getting a lot of positive feedback.  Any info would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    John

    Chris,

Thank you for the information. It was precisely the information I needed to help me choose the shaft for my new 915D3. I really love the fact that I can come on here and get expert first hand information from someone who works for Titleist, rather than some random internet source who isn't always qualified to give advice on the subject. I'm really looking forward to stepping on the tee box with my new club.

    Chris,

    Many thanks for your input.

I have one additional question - does this mean that I cannot purchase a 915 D3 with Aldia Rogue 125 MSI 60 in TS flex? I do know that this particular shaft is not listed in Titleist's Custom Options booklet, but wanted to check before purchasing the Rogue 125 MSI 60 in TS flex (just the shaft) from somewhere else.

Many thanks in advance for your continued support.

That shaft will be available as an "off menu" shaft after the 915 launch.  Off menu means that we will place the order as a courtesy to you, but we ask that you do not make any changes or cancel the order will strictly be attached to your name.  As Chris mentioned, the higher the MSI, the more expensive and limited in supply, so getting the shaft may take some time.  There will be an upcharge for the shaft, but we will not be able to place the order until the launch.

Many thanks for this. I will take this information with me to my Titleist rep, when putting my order in. As wintertime is approaching the additional time required for the delivery is not going to be any problem.

    Thanks again.

    Cathi,

A few months ago I asked about the possibility of order a new 915D2/D3 with Aldila Rogue 125 MSI shart in TS flex. You replied (which reply I am unfrotunately unable to locate from this thread) that it is available as an "off menu" item, making the delivery time somewhat longer.

Well the winter is almost over, and I visited my local Titleist rep this past Monday to put in my order for the new driver. The rep himself games a 915D3 with Aldila Rogue 125 MSI in TX flex. I told him (for the sake of clarity) about the TS flex being an "off menu" item, but that it is available, despite not being listed in Titleist's Custom Options Booklet.

Yesterday I was informed by my rep that the TS flex is not available in Europe. Is this really the case, or is this just a mistake on my reps part? It is somewhat difficult to understand that you would offer one flex (TX) in Europe, but not another flex (TS).

    Thanks for your continued support.

Hi Sakke,  About one month ago, we posted an update to the Rogue TS and TR.  Those flexes are no longer available to order even "off menu".  The only Tour flex available is the TX.

At this time, Aldila is reserving the 80 TX as a Tour only shaft that they are not planning on selling.  If that changes and they decide to produce more or make it available for sale, we will be able to revisit it.

i was able to try them all today. I have to say i am moving from my aldilla red eye shaft to the aldilla rougue silver 60. One thing i didnt real is the 60 isnt really the weight of the shaft it weighs 69 so be careful. Allof the aldilla shafts are stiff but extremely smooth and when released have the tighter dispersion. The diamanna were better as well but flight a little lower and i was able to spray them more. In the fairway woods and hybrids i was however leaning towards the diamanna blue s+ and go to the 70g for the 3 and 80g for the hybrid. I wasnt able to line up the aldilla in the fairway or the hybrid same as 2 years ago. Much preferred the d3 over the d2 for looks and also acoustics

Had a fitting today with the 915 D3 with Rogue Black 70. Compared to my current 913 D3 with Phenom 70 it lowered spin rates by 1000 rpm, flattened out the flight and provided any additional 27 yards for me.  Same average swing speed 99mph but provided circa 8mph additional ball speed.  For my swing and load pattern this is a no brainer.

Shaft itself felt firmer at the top of my swing and produced a great 5 yard fade consistently of the A1 position.

My fitter said that that shaft is a $229 shaft off menu and that we are very luck that Titleist is offering it to us in the lauch this year.  Thanks!  Mine was delivered Thursday.  Unfortunately did not get to play with it until yesterday, but I was not diappointed.  Everything I expected and more.  Cathi, you guys rock.  Spoke with Bubba and he had some good pointers.  The 915D2 9.5 with the Rogue 95 rocks and is bad ***.....forget what it says on those monitors.......the tale is on the course.....lots of fairways and long.........cheers and a very happy loyalist.......Chuck.........

I was able to try out the Rogue Silver 70 X (110MSI) yesterday and liked it, but think it it could be better. I'd like to try out the 60 as well as the 125 MSI to see if I may like it better. Would my fitter be able to request those for a fitting?

  28. Question-I currently play a 910 D3 8.5* with a rip 60 Phm stiff shaft. I just got a Tour model 913,D2,8.5* with a Rouge MSI 110 S 60 shaft have not hit it yet but looking forward to a more penetrating ball flight and better pattern. maybe lower ball flight. Any thoughts. I am a 6.1 HCP ,66 years old and play 4+ times a month and in USGA tournms. Thanks, John

I have a few questions about the ROGUE 125 vs. 110:

I tried the 110 MSI in the x stiff and loved it in the D3. My swing speed is 114. Would I benefit from investing in the 125 MSI? What would this shaft tend to do to the launch conditions? Thanks!

If I had that kind of clubhead swing, my back would be in worse shape than it already is.....oh to be young again.....I must say at 68 I love the new Rogue shaft and my low 93 mph club head swing seems to move the ball more tha n adequately for me.  Thank you Titleist for providing this as a stock shaft on preorders this year.  The club performs much better on the course than it does on any monitor.

I was recently fitted by a Titleist rep and was fitted for a 915 D2 with rogue silver 60 Stiff flex. My swing speed is around 97-99 with this shaft. Curious if this shaft is too stiff for my swing speed? It seemed to perform well just seems like according to their website I am borderline with my swing speed. Thanks!

    Hi Chris,

Honestly, when I would fit an individual for any club, the results were the only thing I cared about. I fit some low speed individuals into shafts that were "stiffer" than shafts I gave to high speed individuals. How you load a club, your spin and launch numbers and feel are all factors that go into determining the proper setup.

I never fit a shaft solely based on swing speed. Trust your fit and stick with it, because it sounds like you are hitting it well.

    Hope this helps.

    Bubba

  34. Hi Chris:

So the Rogue Silver 125MSI is the same as the Rogue Tour Silver Limited Edition that sells for well over $700 at most custom shops?  How is Titleist able to offer it for $200?

I actually just came across a tour issue certified made in the USA Rogue 125 silver , fortunately it did not cost me 900 but was pretty up there lol . I am interested in seeing the difference versus the standard stock 125 that we buy off-the-shelf ....

Great information Chris, I was fit for the Rouge shaft in my 915D3 and I absolutely love it.  I had been playing a 913D3 with a Tour DI and was skeptical at first but I'm a believer in 1) getting fit  2)keeping an open mind to what works best, and I have to say its a great proformance shaft.

Thank you you for the quick response. Both of those make perfect sense. I tend to get buried reading other reviews and get concerned I made the wrong decision. I probably would have gottent the same shaft I had in my 910 but I did go to a certified fitter and he did the right thing for me.  We spent about an hour just working on the right shaft and head combination.  Ended up with the 915D2, Aldila Black Rogue 70 Stiff.  After playing with it for a while, it was dead on.  cz

Another interesting this was fitters focus on overall performance in terms of #s and launch angle. I actually performed best with D3. I was wanting more forgiveness so tried D2 but think I'm going back to D3. Titleist fitter didn't care which head I ended up with, he wanted to see results.
