Golf Digest magazine has just revealed its annual list of clubs on its 2015 Hot List. The Titleist 915D2 and D3 drivers were rated gold, as were the 915F and Fd fairway metals. The 915H and Hd hybrids also rated gold. The AP1 714 and AP2 714 irons rated gold, while the CB.714 irons rated silver. The Vokey Design SM5 wedges rated gold. And finally, the Scotty Cameron Select and Futura X5/X5R putters all rated gold. So, Team Titleist members, now that you have seen Titleist clubs on Golf Digest's 2015 Hot List, will that, plus your skill, convince you to purchase Titleist clubs?
  2. Why are the 714 irons on the list   Aren't they over a year old. They were on last years list

I believe the list is rating current clubs, not just new clubs.  Since Titleist typically releases clubs every other year, Golf Digest will rate the same club two years in a row.  I think it says a lot that a set of irons that is over a year old is still considered one of the best on the market.

  4. Hello Michael,

The simple answer is no, I will not. Whatever GD gives medals to has no bearing on any decision I will make for one simple reason. GD cannot test how a golf club feels in MY hands (or YOURS for that matter). Go to a golf shop and pick up a club. Set it down in the address position. Some clubs will look fine to you while others will look like a brick on the end of a stick. Yet, another golfer might see these same two clubs the opposite of what you do. Some club heads will feel light as a feather to you while others feel like sledgehammers. Hit a few shots in the simulator or on the range. Some clubs will feel harsh to you while others feel like you're hitting marshmallows. You have to trust yourself, not some people in a magazine.

All that said, Titleist products are and have always been top contenders to go into my bag!

Michael - To answer your question, the GD Hot List won't convince me to buy something, but it will get me to look closer at a product.  Especially when a company like Titleist that places virtually everything in the gold category.  There are so many golf products on the market, you can't compare everything.  So you have to use something arbitrary to cut down your choices to a manageable number.

I can say, that I have Drove the new Titleist 915 Drivers on the simulators at my local golf shop and were impressed with the results. However a new driver is not in this years budget. I do like to read reviews in both monthly golf publications, and they probably do have some bearing on my purchases.

That is the reason that my Titleist bag is full, already. Playing them is believing.
