To everyone at Titleist, THANK YOU!  I went into my local shop about 2 months ago and played around with all the camerons to figure out which one i wanted.  This was obviously a pretty important decision given the cost.  Fact of matter is if you can stand over a club with complete confidence in the product and your abilities, price is no longer a factor.  After thinking long and hard about my options i decided to pull the trigger towards the end of January on a custom "heavy" cameron X5R.  Unfortunately about a week after i placed the order i received a call from the shop that they were on backorder and i wouldn't see it until about June.  My heart sank, i knew the anticipation was going to kill me!  Today i am faced with a new issue, i live in upstate NY and my putter came in today way ahead of schedule!

During the offseason i was fortunate enough to upgrade everything, i can now say that i am a proud owner of a Titleist bag, 714 AP2 irons, sm5 wedges, 913 driver and now my first scotty cameron.  i can honestly say that i am more than confident in my new sticks and cannot wait to get out and play.  Now all i need is some appropriate weather!

    Thanks again,

    Billy

Oh I think everyone who owns a Cameron remembers their first!  They are great clubs and I'm sure you will not be disappointed, and congrats on switching over to all Titleist equipment!  Now that you have the best you won't ever be able to switch back to the rest!

Congrats!  Sounds like a great bag full of clubs to sit and stare at till the grass appears from under all the snow.  My stepson is in Rochester, NY, I've seen what you're getting and don't envy you at all.

    Play well,

    -Chris

  5. Billy, enjoy! Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks everyone!

Too funny chris P, I live in Rochester. The weather is terrible here, by far one a the coldest and snowiest in a long time.  If I wasn't so incredibly busy with full time work/school I would definitely head south for a long weekend to put these babies to use.

Share you pain. I live in the Charleston, SC area and we too are having the blues. Temperatures twenty degrees below normal. Have played one full round in the last three and one half weeks. Either rain or thirty degree weather and windy. We are supposed to have our annual City of Charleston Men's Fourball Invitational March 7th and 8th and we are hoping for the best. Probably be playing lift clean and place for the two day event. Played the course today and the back nine was closed. Am 100% Titleist as well. Added a couple of 915 metals this year. No regrets making the change. Some refer to me as Mr Titleist at the course. Love the compliment. Everyday is a great day as I push the Titleist bag around the course. Know your pride.

Congrats Billy and you will love the new gear if you can wait til that nasty white stuff disappears!!!  Keep us posted on how you like that X5R, as I am looking at one as well and would love to hear your input.  Have yet to putt with a counter balanced putter on the course and it feels great on the Store putting greens.

Looks like the weather is going to cooperate for the tournament. Has been sunny and windy most of the week and the temperatures even went up to 80 a couple of days. High today 45 with high winds. Supposed to be in the mid 50s for the first day and mid 60s the second day. No rain in sight and minimal winds, around 5mph. Should be a great tournament. 96 teams entered. See how those AP2s perform. Of course it is up to the Indian. Fairways and greens.
  10. Congratulations ! Sounds similar to me last season - when the Scotty Cameron GoLo5 completed my all-Titleist bag.

I've been waiting on a custom X5 since I ordered (and paid for) it in January.  Glad to hear your putter arrived...maybe that means mine isn't far behind.

I've never owned a Scotty Cameron.  Just can't swallow the price.  But man alive, that's one sexy looking club you got there.  Congrats!

Great story Will!  I'm praying we'll see grass soon in the Northeast...

Jonathan S., I totally understand the price being a big factor and it was to me but i finally gave in.  I found myself buying a new putter ever year before the Scotty.   It's by far the best purchase I ever made.   Bought the Newport about 4 years ago and haven't bought a new putter since.

If you think about it, what's the most important club in your bag?   The sexy one ;)

    Cheers
