Hi, I live in the desert of Las Vegas, so I get in about 80 rounds per year.

I'm curious how often you regrip your clubs vs. how many rounds you play per year.

I like the Golf Pride Tour Velvet, yet it seems that I have to regrip them every four months or so or they get kinda slickery.

Do you find that any special treatments prolong the life of the grip feel?

A wet towel just doesn't seem to do the trick.

I'll hang up now and listen to your responses... :)

I go tour wrap golf pride....Play for 2 seasons and change. They definitely have the most durability and tackiness I've found so far.

I'm a golf pride tour wrap person too. Have them on all my clubs, AP2, Vokeys, 915 Driver, etc. I usually replace them a couple times a year, based on close to 100 rounds, but in between I use a wipe, "Gripes" put out by Lamkin I think, that seem to clean, and take off the slipperiness off and restore the tackiness.

I find that dish soap and hot water seem to do the trick at cleaning my grips. The older they get the more often I have to clean them. With as many rounds as you play I would think you need to regrip your clubs at least once a year minimum.

I play Golf Pride MCC +4. If you keep them clean they do last a bit longer and soft. GP grips in whole seem to out last their competition. Number one grip on tour. Only grip I would recommend and only one I have used in many years based on performance.

I use the Titleist tour velvet grips and play 60 rounds per season and regrip every two seasons. When needed I use a small kitchen brush and a little water and scrub them. You can also use 400-b sandpaper from your local hardware store.

I like the Golf Pride MCC grips. I like the cord feel on the top and the softer rubber feel on the bottom. I keep my grips pretty clean year round and easily get two years out of them.
  9. I regrip about once a quarter, in between I use mild soap and water to clean the oil and dirt from the grips...rising thoroughly...

I put dish soap in a pail with warm water, dip scrub brush in soapy water and scrub the grips - rinse - and pat dry. The dish soap gets rid of sweat and oils. I do this once a month and can get almost two season out of my grips (play 70 times a year). you can also lightly sand with a fine grit sand paper and then wash and they are like new.

I usually change mine every season, but last year, mid season I put on Gp tour wraps and I love them, I will have to see how they last. They seem to still feel brand new 1/2 a season in.
I will give my grips a good soapy cleaning about once a month, other than that a good wipe down after each round helps too

I use GP Tour Velvet and re-grip about every 6 weeks, every 3 weeks for my wedges. I play/practice almost every day so they get a lot of use.

you should re grip your clubs once a year if you play that many rounds!

Use Lava soap and a stiff brush. Not all stores carry Lava. I got a bar at Wal-Mart.

I play 125-150 rounds a year and practice nearly everyday. I change my wedges and driver grips 3-4 times a year and everything else at least twice a year. I do the regripping myself to save on costs, but even so, those grips are more expensive than most and the costs add up over a whole year. I estimate I spend $300-450 a year on grips. I also replaced my Scotty grip a couple times since last year, but more to try different sizes rather than due to wearing out of the grip. An oversized large or jumbo Scotty grip is about $40.

I wash them with mild soap and warm water every couple weeks, depending of season. Less in the colder months.

i play GP Tour Velvet because I like to re-grip 2 - 3 times/year. They have the best feel and re-gripping these 3x year = 2x year for multi-compound grips.
