  1. I recent bought a 917 D2 Driver, I was a bit 'toey' to start off with and hit a few bad shots, but the result meant that my driver has a little dent on the Toe side of the crown. Should this really happen from a few bad hits, and by a few I mean 7 bad hits. Has anyone experienced this before?

I have a 917 D2 and i've had it since last Fall when it was release. I have to say I've hit the toe side MANY timesssss and my driver is fine.. No issues at all..

I would bring it to where you bought it and maybe have it sent back to Titleist for further review. I have never heard of this before...

Dents in the crown can happen at any point that you've mishit the ball. It doesn't have to be the 100th, it can just as easily be the first. It all depends on the exact circumstances of the contact / angle / etc.

You can certainly try to send it back and have it looked at. But odds are it is what it is.
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm going to take it back and have it inspected, just really surprised it happened so soon after purchase

Are dents covered by warranty within the first year? I bought my driver in May and I accidentally hit a shot off the toe. Now I have a small dent on the side near the toe. Does it affect performance as well?
  7. I just returned from hitting my Brand new 917 D3 for the very first time. Hit two mis hits in the toe and a major dent. This is also after buying brand new Titleist stand bag to have the big pocket on back zipper break. I am concerned as I have just spent several hundreds of dollars only to have damaged immediately. I am taking back to golf shop where I purchased. Please tell my Titleist will honor their quality and replace.

Oh wow, this seems unfortunate. Hope you bought them from a reputable shop.
