Which 718 iron is most like the 990

    Hey guys. Just saw the 718s yesterday and they look amazing. Super excited. I have a set of titleist 990s. I love them and still hit them very well but I am considering getting a set of the 718s and going to a fitting. Before I go I was wondering if anyone would have an idea if the cb or ap2 would be more like the 990. Thanks for the help

    I think it would be close between the AP2 and the CB. Best bet would be to find a fitter and that will get you to the proper club.

    Agree with 19 hole either AP2 or CB.

    I have not tested the new 718 line, but the CB's will be most like your 990's, lofts may be 1* stronger or so from standard, but not much to worry about.

    Well I guess I'm not the only one that still hits the DCI 990's. lol.
    I hit the 716 CB's at a demo this summer and they were the closest to my 990's. I would still hit them and see though. The AP2's didn't fit my eye.

    Count me among those that still have my 990s. They were the first cast irons I ever hit and they were amazing straight out of the box. I have finally gotten to the point where I need to start taking advantage of the progression of technology and send my beloved 990s to one of my bags with their predecessors.

    Thanks guys. Scheduled for a fitting on 9/14. Will let you know what I think.
    I am assuming they will have the irons at the fittings by then.
