What Shaft / Which Iron with this stats

Hi,

I had a fitting session with a japanese manufactuer.

My specs was for 6 iron :

Clubhead speed 85mph

Ball speed 110mph

launch angle 21

spin rate 7000

Carry 150y

high 28y

The result : shaft Project X5.5

Irons : combo mp63 for (6-pw) mp53 (5-4)

I will have a Titleist fitting in two weeks, what can I have similar in Titleist ?

Thanks for reply

Eugene

Hi Eugene, I guess if you were looking for a similar club to the irons you play now then the obvious choice would be CBs. They feel great and the ball flight is penetrating, much like you'd find with mp irons. I suppose that you could still go either side of the CBs though - AP2s or MBs. I'm sure when you go to get fitted the fitter will allow you to try different models to choose the right one for you though. Good luck with your fitting!
Thanks Cameron,

I hope I will find a good set-up.

What do you think about the shaft ?
I used range balls for the fitting. I am 12 handicap.
Hi Eugene: That is an extremely high spin rate and launch angle. I would be looking at something that helps keep the flight down (KBS C-Taper, s300, s400, x100) and something with stronger lofts such as the AP1 or an AP2 delofted. RC

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your help.

For spin rate, it was with old range balls and the fitter said it didn't help and spinrate was increased but still high.

Are these shafts good for my clubhead speed around 85mph ?

How much can we deloft AP2 ?

Much appreciated your answers.

If the Project X 5.5 is the shaft that feels right, then by all means. I'm not a fan of using swing speed for shaft fitting. It's performace based, but also player perception based. You can deloft an AP2 2 degrees max! RC

Hi Ryan, Thanks for your help. I also tried dynamic gold sl s300 and my perception was good. But he advised me to have heavier shaft. I don't know what to do... If I deloft 2 degrees on AP 2, are they more demanding ? Thanks again. Eugene
They would be different... I wouldn't say "more demanding." We essentially need lower loft at impact and we can accomplish this with a slight loft adjustment on irons, as well as perhaps a visit to your local TPI Certified golf professional. We definitely need the shaft leaning more towards the target with launch conditions that high.
