I currently have a 910 D2 9.5 with an 'Ahina stiff shaft but I've got to make a change because on the launch profile - 105 ss with 245 carry but the launch angle is 8 degrees with 1700 rpm (way too low). I went to a demo day to find another shaft and got pretty good results and feel from the RIP stiff -108 ss, 13,5 launch and 2200 rpm - 260 carry on avg. Ideally I'd like to go to an advanced fitting center to try out a few other shafts (i.e., AD DI 8) but the closest one is about 3 hours away.
Anyone have the same experience or using the RIP. Thanks
Steve
I am currently using the RIP and love it. It is great. Get it.
I bought a my 910D2 RIP last week. So far it's AMAZING !!!
I've had GD tour AD DI 6 stiff on 8.5 degree 910 D2. My SS average is around 107. I tried out RIP 60 stiff and gave me lower launch and lower spin rate with 11 yard more carry distance and 18 yards more total distance. So, I think I'm going to change to RIP.
When I was fitted for my D3, the first two shafts we tried netted the same results I was getting with the driver I was already playing. We tried a third shaft with poorer results. Then the fitter popped the RIP 60 stiff in. WHOA!! My distances increased by an easy 10% from a 238 average to 263 yards.
I'd love to try one in my 910F 15*.
Demo'd the RIP again, bought it and hit a bucket of ball - LOVING IT!!! Headed for the course tomorrow morning.
Thanks everyone for your input.
Demo'd both 910's and ended up in the D3 witht the Rip 60, love it. Tried the other stock shafts but launch and spin were too high, except with the Project X but didnt like the feel on that...Only played 1 round but loved the driver and shaft. Distance was great at around 280 avg, but dispersion was excellent for me, only lost one ball which is good for me!
Good luck!
