I hit the 714 AP2 and AP1 yesterday with the same shaft in a fitting set (6-iron). I found my ball speed to be higher with the AP2 as opposed to the AP1 and carry distance roughly the same given the slightly different loft (all on Trackman). This is counter to what I was expecting. I had planned on going with a mixed set of AP1 (4-6 iron) and AP2 (7-PW) and am now wondering if I should go all AP2s - I definitely like the looks and feel better, but want the extra forgiveness on the 4-6 irons. Any thoughts?
