Dear Titleist,I have had my custom 712 mb irons with c-taper stiff shafts for a year but just recently held them next to 712 ap2's and realized mine were about a 1/4 of an inch shorter. I ordered them stock but did they make a mistake? Or is this just length needed for the proper frequency of the shafts? Also will this affect my distance?

We do work within a +/-1/8th" tolerance since there are many different butt cap sizes for each grip model. If you requested standard length, then they should have been built standard length (+/- 1/8th"). If there happens to be any type of discrepancy, please contact Team Titleist at 1-888-TITLEIST.

I could see the reason for concern but i think the bigger question is are you hitting them just fine. I would say if your hitting them well then there is no need to worrie about it.
