I have just been custom fit for a set of AP2 irons and SM4 (tour chrome) wedges. I was told i need the clubs 1.25" longer and 4 degrees upright (I am 6ft 6 with t rex arms). Titleist are sending the wedges only 2 degrees upright, what are the reasons for this? and would it be ok to bend the clubs 2 degrees more upright?
Hi Ruairi, We bend chromed clubs (including irons) 2° so that we don't take any chances on crimping the chrome plating. Since the Oil Can wedge is essentially a raw wedge with a hot oil finish, we can bend that 4°. You may also want to check with your fitter as often times (we see this with our tour players), they keep the wedges slightly flatter than their irons.
