AP2 714 with KBS Tour Reg (recommended on fitting) vs Dynalite Gold XP Reg

  1. Hi,

Had a fitting where I was recommended:

    Shaft: KBS Tour Regular
    Lie: 61*
    Length: 37.5
    Swing Weight: D2

The fitter said I could choose the head since current ones aren't that forgiving so I'm thinking AP2 714.

My friend doesn't like his AP2 714s and has offered to give me a good deal, he has Dynalite Gold XP Reg shafts though. These are my average Trackman results with KBS tour reg with a 6 iron:

Average 79.8 (club speed mpg) ‐1.9 (attack angle) 107.6 (ball speed) 5745 (spin rate) 149.7 (carry) 31.0R (side) 20.7 (launch angle) 1.35 (smash factor) 46.2 (descent angle)  25.7  (dynamic loft) 28.3 (spin loft)158.3 (total yards)

Wasn't swinging great that day but in general i have a bit higher launch with sharp descent so I lose distance.

Struggling to find much info on the Dynalite....could anyone provide a comparison and let me know if it's a decent option (would save around £200 over new price with KBS tour reg.

    Thanks,

    Niall

    Hi Niall,

    Thanks for your question.

The Dynalite XP (R) and KBS Tour )R) have fairly similar specs.  The Dynalite is just a little heaver (about 5 grams) and the KBS has a slightly lower launch.  With that said, the shafts are designed quite differently.  The weight of the KBS shaft is distributed so most of the feeling is in the handle, whereas XP is designed so individuals feel the head more.

At the very least I would suggest trying the Dynalite Gold XP's first.

Hope this helps and thanks for your support of Team Titleist.

  3. Hi Bubba,

That's interesting, I had thought the Dynalite would be "lighter" than the KBS Tour and that would give it the higher flight. If there's not much difference in launch I might just buy them and change shaft if necessary.

    Thanks,

    Niall
