Swing Weight for 915D2 and 714MB

    I'm wondering if Titleist is able to achieve a swing weight of D0 or higher given the following club and shaft combos:

    915D2 12* Diamana M+ 50 S at 43" or 43.5" (trim 1.5-2")

    915F 18* Diamana M+ 60 S at 41.5" (trim 1")

    714MB True Temper XP95 at 37" 6 Iron (trim 0.5")

    I'd like to go to these shorter lengths with these clubs, but don't want to get a really low swing weight or cause a clubmaker to go to extreme lengths to achieve them. If not I'll just plan on gripping down (which will at least keep total club weight the same). I was fitted into these lighter, higher launching shafts but was not certain if a reasonable swing weight remains possible.

    The highest swingweight we can achieve on the 915 D2 with the M+50 at 43.5" would be C5.  If you were to use the Winn Dri-Tac ladies grey grip, we can get to C8.

    On the 915 fairway with the M+60 at 1" short, we can get to C8, or D1 with the ladies Dri Tac grip.

    At 1/2" short on the MB's with an XP 95, we can get to C9, or D2 with that same ladies grip. 

    In all cases, you would have to request the swingweight along with all the components that will make the swingweight achievable.  For example, you would not be able to place an order for the driver at 43.5" at D0 without adding a grip that would add 5 swingweights since that combination with a std grip would be C5.

    Thanks so much for the response, that's extremely helpful. Following up, I've read that each 1/2" change in shaft length results in about 3 SW points, and each 5 gram change in grip weight results in 1 SW point. That seems to add up when you reference the 35 gram ladies Dri Tac and 52 gram stock Tour Velvet (~3 SW points). These are obviously generalizations, as every shaft has a different balance point which makes it hard to guess.

    Assuming these estimated numbers, I think I'll just add a 1/2" to all of the clubs I mentioned (Driver, 5W, MB irons) and thus add 3 SW points. A 44" (-1") driver at C8, 42" (-0.5") 5W at D1, and standard MBs at D2. I'd prefer to use an undersized Tour Velvet .580 or .600 (44 and 40 grams) instead of the Dri Tac, which will should help add 1-2 SW points. However, custom orders only ask grip size as -1/64, Std, +1/64, etc. Would I just request the specific undersize .580 or.600 Tour Velvet I wanted in the notes?

    Hi Nicholas,  Yes, just request the specific grip - to get a 1/64 undersize - we would use the .60 core which does not stretch out the outer diameter as much as using a smaller .58 core grip.The swingweight request would also have to be on the order when placed. 

    I show that at 44" on your driver with the M+50 and the .60 Titleist Tour Velvet360 grip, we should be able to get to D0.

    On the fairway, you can still build at 1" under and get a D0 swingweight.  If you build at 1/2" under, you can request a D2 swingweight. 

    On your irons, if you go 1/2" short with that grip, you can request a D0 on the swingweight.  At standard length, you can request a D2 swingweight.
