As we all know the Masters Sunday is two weeks away, and in my opinion, Master's week is the greatest week in golf.  The Masters is so special for many reasons.  For me it's the official start of the golf season, and the measuring stick that will stand the test of time.  It's arguably the best field of the season on the best course in the world.  I've never been, but I enter for a chance to buy tickets every year.  This year I think it will be Adam Scott, Rory, and Luke Donald in the hunt for Sunday.  What do you guys and gals think?

Why is the Masters special to you?  Have you been?  Who's your picks?

Love the Masters as well on HD TV because I look out my window in Chicago and see grey. I have never been but would obviously love to go sometime. As far as picks go Adam Scott is a good choice. I would say TW because he knows the course well and has shown glimpses of getting his game back. Rory, just because he's Rory McIlroy. Day is one I will throw in there because he was T2 last year but hasnt been playing well. Those would be mine.

I love the Masters because it's exciting yet subtle and everything is so beautiful on Augusta National. As for my picks:

    1.Rory MclIroy

    2. TW (He just won Bay Hill and he always performs well at Augusta)

    3. Phil

    4. Day

You can't argue with TW because he has won 4 green jackets in 15 years and as I know, he placed very highly last year. He has also improved and won 2 tournaments with his new swing. in the last 6 months. As for Phil, I don't think the guy has ever missed the cut at Augusta or placed outside the top 25. 3 of his 4 majors are Masters I believe. Everyone is picking Day and MclIroy because they're Day and MclIroy. There you go.

TW is playing well and it will be an exciting Masters, that's for sure.  I'm pulling for Rory and Adam.

I think it will end up being Rory, TW, and Adam in a playoff. What a turnout that would be right?!

  6. I'm pulling for Rory, Adam, Stricker...at least a Titleist Staff player.

This upcoming week does have excellent potential, and could go down as one of the greatest Master's of all times.  If you look at all of the ones that will be in it, you could say almost 10-15 guys have a decent chance to win.

However my picks are Rory McIlroy, TW, Phil, and the upset Bubba Watson.

Rory has a chance every Sunday to win a tournament and hasn't finished outside of the top 10 in a long time!  TW finally looks to be back to his full potential.  Phil just gets hot at the Masters, and poses a major threat.  Finally I am choosing Bubba Watson because I believe he's going to play like he did at the Transistion's tournament a few weeks back.  When he is on top of his game like he was there, (except for Sunday) he can go low just like anyone else.

Well I'm looking forward to this, and will be watching all four days!

I'd rather see TW become a dominant force once again.  I believe if he returns to his old self, he will encourage others to elevate their games - making every shot an exciting one.

Normally, I'd just watch because we don't have courses until the following weekend. But I'll be out for my third straight weekend in Wisconsin this week. Besides being the home town boy, I'd like to see Steve S. win. So he won't have to be on the outside in a couple of years like the Big Easy is this year since he is not a past champ.

For other dark horses, Bubba will of course provide the most excitement, Johnson Wagner and Jason Duffner have been hanging close. Picking a favorite hardly seems worthwhile since Rory, TW, and Phil will be on everyone's top 5.

    Don -

Have you ever played Whistling Straights?

8:40 am 5/5/2012. I get a deal for being a volunteer and going to training for the USGA Women's Open at Kohler in July.

I LOVE Masters week. I'm so thrilled that they have so much to offer on www.masters.com...extended coverage, information, interviews, photos, etc. I enjoy the blogs by the amateur players and other media folks. I, too, tried for the lottery this year, but unfortunately didn't get tickets. Some friends went last year and they brought me a hat and some other special treats. I'm awed at what I see on TV, so I can only imagine what it must be like in person. Sunday is just me and the Masters - hunkered down on the couch with my laptop on a chair with their coverage going, too. (snacks are also a must!) No phone calls, no conversations. I give standing ovations and have been known to shed a tear or two. It is one of my favorite days of the year! I am, as I have for the past 6 years, rooting for Steve Stricker to win. I have heard all of the arguements on why he won't, but my heart won't be talked out of it. I have lots of other favorite players, but for some reason, I think THIS is going to be the year for Stricker!! (okay, I might have said that the last few years, too) :) The way 2012 has been going, I think we're going to see some exciting golf next week.

Ditto - we have our Masters party on Saturday so that we can root for our faves, but on Sunday - no interruptions except for a round of golf in the morning :)

You've got to sneak in a round on Master's Sunday!  I can't wait for tomorrow.  I'll watch the par 3, then each day gets better from here.  The greatest weekend in golf without a doubt.
