New Layout

Got to tell you, I'm not a big fan of the new layout for the Team Titleist site. Just seems like a jumbled mess on the page for each area. Tough to follow, one spot showed a photo of some putter heads but the information below it was about driver heads. Will still be using the My Game section but probably will spend less time in other areas, I can't  follow the information spread all over the place like that. Sometimes newer isn't better. I would look forward to seeing this posted and any responses, but I probably won't be able to find it in this mess.

Hi Dustin,

Thanks for the candid feedback. We definitely appreciate your comments and input. Sorry to hear you feel the new layout is a mess. Our hope was to help create a more visually engaging layout that helped make exploring all of the great content a little more fun. The good news is, you can switch back to the classic view by clicking on the "View TT Classic" button at the bottom of the left hand navigation. Hopefully having this option will help keep you engaged in the discussions. Thanks again for the input.

Cheers,

Mike

Dustin, I had the same problem.  You need to click on the red Classic vew in the left had column..I like it much better than the new Beta view.

Awesome, didn't even notice that button there.  That is going to make it so much easier to navigate!  Thanks Mike.

I like the idea of this layout a lot and I'm sure it will only get better. What I think might help clean it up is if the first few comments under the picture box were hidden and could be opened by clicking on it, I'm visualizing the way a folder opens on an iPhone. I think it would be a lot easier to differentiate between topics that way. But I do agree the pictures can e confusing because it makes it look like that topic is about what's in the picture. Keep at it Titleist and I think this could be a real winner.

At first I wasn't a big fan of the layout, but the more I use it the better I like it.  I like the fact that you can see some of the comments instead of having to go into the discussion.  I agree it is kind of messy, but I don't mind.  BTW I love the pictures, sometimes though they are misleading.  Keep them though!

Ya, I felt the same way so I went to the classic.  Not really sure it's a mess but I just think we were so used to the old one.

I prefer the classic (old) view myself.  Maybe I just like viewing the discussions in a list format.  The topics in the classic view are a little more organized and helps user navigation, in my opinion.  However, I'm a focus group of one and I'm sure you've done some user experience testing with the new design.  I'm just glad there is an option to view in either format.

I tried the new layout, but have gone back to the classic.  It's better IMO

Mike,

i have to agree with Dustin, I'm not a fan of the new format but there is no way the format will never keep me away! I appreciate TT keeping the classic format option open!

I like both.  The new is obviously geared for mobile usage.  When you see the numbers of iPad/tablet usage and now Microsoft Surface it's all going touch screen (probably within a few years)

I have to agree. The layout is very busy. The idea to try to improve is always appreciated, but some things are meant to stay the same.

I don't like the new page either, too messy.  I went back to the classic view.

I find the new design to be REALLY hard to read. I can't scan the posts to see if there is anything interesting. Do I look left to right, top to bottom, both?

As a result, I find myself coming here to browse a lot less often.

P.S. I'm a technology executive, so I'm usually all over new designs.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the feedback. We've heard some really great comments from everyone on Team Titleist regarding the new layout - some positive and some less than positive - but all of them have been extremely helpful as we continue to look at ways to create the best possible experience.

And we are working on some more enhancements that we hope will address some of the feedback we've heard already. But as always, keep the suggestions coming!

While we keep busy on our end, you can also can switch back to the classic view by clicking on the "View TT Classic" button at the bottom of the left hand navigation. Hopefully having this option will help keep you coming back!

Thanks again for the input.

I like it, I can go through stuff that isn't that interesting to me and go to the stuff that does interest me. On the side there is a button to view team Titleist as classic.

I don't know about the others, but I sure like the new layout and the way emails are received. Am also impressed with the ability to block those that one is not interested in. Overall, a great experience.

I for one am a fan of the new layout.  I like being able to navigate between threads I am posting on and general comments under certain topics, such as clubs, fitting, etc.  That's just me though.  Keep up the good work Titleist!

Agreed - the page is very nice looking, but as far as user friendliness and functionality it leaves something to be desired.  With that said, nice to see titleist taking a chance and trying new layouts!
