I have been using a Bushnell laser range finder for several years. I am thinking about purchasing a GPS golf watch. Has anyone tried the Bushnell or Garmin watches? If so, what are your thoughts. Do they work well? Are they too bulky? I don't normally play golf in a watch, but could get used to it.

    Thanks!

Hi Bill, I currently use the Garmin approach S3 and love the accuracy, I upgraded from the S1 but I find that the S1 worked just as well. I too don't normally wear a watch but you get used to it quickly, I like that i just have to look to my wrist for distances vs pulling out the range finder and viewing the distance. If i could go back, i would just stick with the S1, the price difference doesn't justify the feature differences for me personally...Good luck ...Joe

I also use the Garmin S3, find it great for holes with water/ doglegs and close to the green. Highly recommend it

I got the approach s1, really like it, great for getting distance to front of green and any trouble

I too have a S1 Garmin and I love it...keeps my flow without having to stop and pull out a range finder. Found it to be as accurate as  a hand held range finder...and for a high handicapper this GPS watch is worth the purchase.

I love my Garmin S1 watch. I have previously used laser range finder but recently switched to the watch and there has been no looking back!

I agree, laser is the way to go!! Unless you don't have steady hand. I use the Bushnell 1600 for years and hasn't let me down.
