They are selling fake clubs saying they are form titleist. They are not even a authorized dealer. do not buy from them.

    Where is this being offered?

I've been poking around a site claiming to have a whole suite of Titleist clubs including the 712 iron series at prices that are way below expected market value and probably well below what I imagine PUD would be (for those lucky enough to have that available to them). When I asked how I could verify that their products are legit they said (in regards to the 712 series) that what they have are trial sets being offered before the official release to test the market and that the serial numbers (if there even are any) may not register if sent to Titleist for evaluation.

If anyone cares to comment from Titleist, I'd love to hear their take on this. If Titleist (or any other club maker) has any recourse against web based outlets offering counterfit versions of their products I'd be happy to give over the web address so that they can hopefully have them shut down.

    Thanks in advance,
    Brandon.

    Hi Brandon,

Thanks for the note and information. This scenario sounds like one that definitely falls into the category of if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. We do not offer trial clubs to our authorized retailers prior to the official release date to test the market.

In terms of our efforts to curb this type of activity, the Acushnet Company vigorously protects its intellectual property. The potential consequences of counterfeiting and/or selling counterfeits can include fines, product confiscation as well as possible imprisonment. Please be assured that we investigate all leads in this type of illegal activity and will take appropriate action against the sellers.

While we have a program to aggressively pursue those who engage in these practices, some counterfeit product finds its way into the marketplace, especially via the internet. If you would like to provide our brand protection team with more information on the website in question please email them at: ip@acushnetgolf.com.

Thanks again and have a great day.

    All the best,
    Mike
