Forged Irons @ the Driving Range??!!

    Can anyone give me some advise if it's okay to practice on rubber mats with forged irons, say once or twice a week?  Will it affect the lie and loft?  I already experienced how range balls will scratch up the face really bad.  Unfortunately I don't have another set to practice with :(

    Rubber mats and not artificial turf?  One range I used had those, and I didn't check my clubs, but they transmitted too much vibration to continue. Not a good sign for the heads.   I now only use use mats with enough surface to mimic turf.
