Does anybody have any great Remedies for Dry and Cracking Skin from playing golf??? I have severe cracking and splitting on three of my right hand fingers middle, index and thumb. I carry Super Glue to patch up the cuts while playing but this is getting old...

Are there any Miracle Ointments for Golfers Hands???

Should I wear 2 gloves ala Tom Gainey???

I have had the same problem for many years. You have to methodcally apply hand creme/moisturizer to your hands everyday. I do this in the morning after I take a shower. Any time you wash your hands apply again. I carry hand creme in my bag, my car, at home, at work. This has worked for me very well. In the summer it is nowhere as bad as the atmosphere has so much more moisture in it and the moisture in your skin is not evaporated then. Our body is 70% water.

Big big problem for me from November to March, every year. I use tape and gloves when playing. On both hands if necessary. Doesn't seem to affect my game too much. In summer, I can usually play with no gloves.

My finger skin cracks badly at certain joints. Even worse, and hardest to tape are the deep cracks that form at each corner of many fingernails. The pain feels like pins sticking deep into my fingers wherever there is a crack through the skin. It is truly painful. So, I can sooo relate to your problem. My thumbs and index fingers crack terribly bad and are constantly covered in bandaids and stretchy sports tape most of the winter.

My wife is constantly trying to get me to soak my hands for hours in very warm water with either oatmeal or bath oil mixed in, but I don't have that kind of time or patience. I will do it on occasion, but because I am not religious about doing it regularly, I don't notice much help. I have also used a product I saw on TV called Working Hands, which seems to help a little, but I am not religious about using it multiple times a day as required. So, I just continue to suffer. I play golf all winter in temps from the high 30s to mid 50s. I pretty much lose the battle, but tape up, wear 2 gloves, and suffer through it. At least I'm playing golf.

I went to Florida last week and played some golf. I was there for 8 or 9 days. My finger cracks cleared up within a couple days of arrival. I got home on Sunday. Yesterday (Monday), I noticed them getting real dry. I have cracks today (Tuesday). It's a never-ending battle.

Did you try using golf tape? It helps me with dry skin and even adds grip...Hope it helps!

Yes, the dry winter air are terrible for my hands, too. But like what most have suggested, the lotion each after washing hands are a good way to keep the moist.

One thing, though... I don't apply any just before the round. But, I'm better now in applying hand lotion after the round.

I'm sure there are some very good lotion you can use, but using/applying lotion frequently I think is good enough.

I thought I was the only one. All the above suggestions are good. I try to use hand cream, no particular brand for me seems to work better than others, often and especially before a round.

Seems to be a side effect of using hand sanitizers with me. My cord grips further aggravate it.
    Non greasy lotion helps me.

I had to go to a dermatologist for skin problems including dry hard skin and rashes. He told me to avoid using anything but vaseline on the skin. Vaseline does help but I also have a prescription vaseline that has steroids and when plain vaseline doesn't work that prescription stuff does the job.

Additionally, as a prevention, he said to only use baby soap, no regular soap or shampoo. And, to avoid hot water on the skin.
