The tour seeding and validation process for the new prototype Titleist 913 drivers got off to an exciting and successful start this week at the AT&T National.

Our Titleist Tour Reps and Golf Club R&D team experts spent the practice rounds at Congressional Country Club working with players, introducing them to the new prototype drivers, explaining their new technologies and features and making sure they are dialed-in with a precision fit.

On Thursday, 14 players stepped to the first tee at Congressional with the new prototype Titleist 913 drivers in their bags.

That list included: Nick Watney (910D3 10.5º), Gary Woodland (910D3 7.5º), Bud Cauley (910D2 7.5º), Tom Gillis (910D2 9.5º), John Merrick (910D2 8.5º), Mark Anderson (910D3 8.5º), Ben Curtis (910D3 8.5º), Brendon de Jonge (910D3 9.5º, Martin Flores (910D3 9.5º), Hunter Haas (910D3  9.5º), Kyung-tae Kim (910D3 8.5º), Seung-yul Noh (910D3 7.5º), Tom Pernice Jr. (910D3 8.5º), D.J. Trahan (910D3 7.5º)

Team Titleist caught up with Nick Watney, Gary Woodland and Ben Curtis earlier in the week to get their first impressions of the new prototype Titleist 913 drivers after hitting them for the first time on the AT&T National range. Here what they had to say in the above video.

"Well, what an awesome week really. I don't know where to start really," said Titleist Brand Ambassador Marc Leishman minutes after winning the 2012 Travelers Championship last Sunday, marking his first-career victory on the PGA Tour.

Marc went out early and posted a final round 8-under 62 to take the lead into the clubhouse – a lead that would stand as Marc waited close to two hours for the final groups to come in. What did Marc do during that wait?

"Just got something to eat and then sat down, watched a little bit of soccer. I turned it over. I didn't want to watch the golf the whole time because I would have been sweating," he said.

As the final groups closed-in on the often action-packed finishing holes at TPC River Highlands, Marc headed to the practice tee, "hit some balls and putted for a bit, and it turned out well that it was a practice session, not a warmup session. I was very happy about that."

The Travelers Championship has a rich history and recently has played host to a number of first-time winners on the PGA Tour including Pro V1x loyalists Bubba Watson (2010) and Hunter Mahan (2007).

Tour seeding of Titleist’s new 913 drivers began Monday at AT&T National and Team Titleist arrived early on Tuesday to find a flood of buzzing media members, spectators and players, all eager to learn more about the new prototype clubs.

From the moment they arrived on site at Congressional Country Club, the team has been hard at work, outfitting Titleist Brand Ambassadors with new prototype 913D2 and 913D3 drivers.  Experts from Titleist's Club R&D, Club Development and Tour Promotion departments are all on hand to dial in players' club specifications, collect data and solicit feedback - the essential ingredients in Titleist's performance validation process.

It's an exciting time for everyone involved, a final step that must be undertaken successfully before any Titleist product can go to market.

It's been an action-packed few days for the Titleist Tour Van at AT&T National, where the new prototype Titleist 913 drivers were unveiled to the PGA Tour Monday morning.

All hands are on deck for the start to Titleist's seeding and tour validation process, as our Titleist Tour Reps and R&D experts work with players to show, explain, fit and test the new drivers.

Three of our experts – Chris McGinley, V.P. of Golf Club Marketing; Stephanie Bezilla, Director of Metalwood Development; and Chris Tuten, Director of Tour Promotions – checked in with Team Titleist earlier in the week to discuss the new prototype 913 drivers, the seeding and tour validation process and their goals for the week at Congressional.

If you haven't heard, the tour seeding and performance validation process for the new prototype Titleist 913 drivers is now under way.

It began early this morning on the range at the AT&T National with the sound of Titleist Brand Ambassador Bobby Gates hitting a new prototype Titleist 913 driver for the the first time, his Pro V1x golf ball launching far down the range at Congressional Country Club.

Several other Titleist players, including S.Y. Noh, Jimmy Walker and Brendan Steele, also took their first swings with the new prototype 913 drivers today, our Titleist Tour Reps there to help them get dialed-in with their optimal shaft and SureFit Tour hosel setting.

Meanwhile, Titleist Brand Ambassador Rory McIlroy took advantage of a nice day in Ireland to test his new prototype 913 driver before getting ready to play in this week's Irish Open.

The buzz will get even louder Tuesday, as many more Titleist players arrive at Congressional, each with a new prototype 913 driver built to their specifications waiting for them in the Titleist Tour Van.
