Long Time Coming

I've been playing golf for 22 years and have had many close calls for a hole in one. I always knew that my first one wouldn't be very exciting. In fact I had doubts if anyone would even be present to witness it. Fortunately my first hole in one came before two witnesses however we never actually saw the ball go into the hole. I was first to tee off on the short uphill par three. I hit a very solid shot that landed just slightly right of the pin but then took a very subtle left hand bounce directly in line with the hole. I knew the distance was pretty decent and figured I would have a good look at birdie. The other two in my group hit their tee shots. One hit his right of the green. The other hit his ball on the front of the green which was still slightly visible from the tee box. When we arrived to the green I saw two balls. One was slightly right of the green and the other was on the front portion of the green. I knew right then that I had made it, but not to look too bold I checked short and long of the green just to be sure. After no sight of the ball in either place I peered into the cup to see my Titleist Pro V1x number 4 golf ball. My first ever hole in one. At least someone was there to see it.
