My First Grande Hole in One

My brother Rick and I were have a "playoff" for bragging rights at the Francisco Grande golf course in Casa Grande, AZ. Neither of us were playing very well, but when I got ready to tee off on Number 16 from 163 yards out, I jokingly said..."There's a breeze from left to right, so I'll hit a full 7-iron and let the wind move it to the right a little and put it in the hole." I hit the best 7-iron shot I've ever hit! The ball flew high and straight, with the wind moving it about 3 feet to the right. The ball hit 8 feet in front of the pin - seemed to be stopped from where we were standing. My brother said - "That's really going to be close! I think it's .... in!" as the ball disappeared into the cup! What a thrill -- what a rush of adrenaline. My first hole-in-one in 51 years of golf. I hope the next one doesn't take another 51 years! I don't know who was more excited, me or my brother. Made my whole year!
