I was participating in a Ryder Cup Match play tournament where I was 4 up in the round. On hole #12, my opponent stuck his tee shot within 2 feet of the hole. My teammate told me to "throw a dart at the flag". Although it was a short par 3, it was a blind pin placement with a mound in front of the green and the tee box had an over-hanging tree nearby.

When I took my practice swing, it was horrible. Then I took another practice swing which provided the feedback I needed to commit to my shot. After I hit my Titleist Pro V1 ball, my partner said, "That looks good!" Afterwards, I looked up and heard it hit the flagstick, then I heard that distinct sound of a click. I found myself in disbelief and wasn't sure it was in because no one could see the hole from my tee box. I didn't believe it because I have had 8 near misses for a Hole-in-One and I didn't want to get my hopes up. When we reached the green, there were only 3 balls present and that's when my heart started to beat faster and the overwhelming urge to shout and scream had overtaken me. There it was finally; my very first "Hole-in-One"! Thank you Titleist for making such an amazing ball! I ended my match by beating my opponent 6&5 and our team won our Ryder Cup tournament! It was a good golf day!
