Voke Visits Japan

After finishing at The Players recently, Voke headed over to Japan for a few days to meet with the media and help out with the Japan PGA Championship, which was held at Raysum Golf & Spa Resort in Gunma. He ended up doing interviews with 15 different golf publications, and also got to work with a few of the Titleist ambassadors on the Japan Golf Tour at the event. Be sure to check out the photo gallery from his trip.

And speaking of The Players, PGATour.com gathered some audio and video clips with Voke when he was on-site at TPC Sawgrass. Links to the various clips can be found below.

Imada Ball Mark Outtakes

With Titleist ambassador Ryuji Imada's big win at last week's AT&T Classic, we thought it might be fun to dig up some of his outtakes from this year's Titleist TV ad shoot. Many of the pros featured in our TV spots stumbled a bit in front of the camera (have a look at their outtakes), and Ryuji was no exception.

Ryuji Imada wins the AT&T Classic

Titleist ambassador Ryuji Imada (Pro V1x, 905R driver, 906F2 3- and 5-woods, 695CB irons, Vokey Design pitching, approach and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron putter) captured the AT&T Classic for his first career PGA TOUR title with a par on the first hole of a sudden death playoff with Pro V1x loyalist Kenny Perry. The two finished regulation at 15-under 273. Imada closed with a 5-under 67, including a birdie on the 72nd hole to advance to the playoff.

Imada has been a runner-up three times on the PGA TOUR, including twice already this season. He lost this same tournament in a playoff to fellow Titleist ambassador Zach Johnson last year. Click on the video player below to hear what Ryuji had to say after capturing the win.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the AT&T Classic with 100 players, compared to the nearest competitor with 22. In addition, Titleist was tied for first in irons sets (38 sets/24%), as well as first in wedges (147 wedges/44%) and putters (62 putters/40%). Imada becomes the 12th different player to win on the 2008 PGA TOUR with Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls, twice the nearest competitor and more than all other golf balls combined. With Imada's victory, Scotty Cameron putters have been the winning choice of 12 champions on the 2008 PGA TOUR, three times the nearest competitor with four. In fact, Cameron loyalists have been on a roll, winning six of the last seven events (including the Masters) and nine of the last 11.

Bob Vokey at The PLAYERS

We were on the ground during practice round days at THE PLAYERS Championship and there was already significant buzz about the new Vokey.com web site before it had even launched. Bob was on site at TPC Sawgrass and working the range making sure all his wedge players were set for the year's "fifth major", but he also found time to conduct interviews with Peter Kessler on XM Satellite Radio and PGATOUR.COM among others. You can check out a portion of his wide-ranging interview with the scribes at PGATOUR.COM at: http://www.pgatour.com/2008/tourlife/instruction/05/07/vokey/index.html?eref=sitesearch Voke was also videotaped for an upcoming feature on "Inside the PGA TOUR" and is scheduled for an interview with the Golf Channel's Adam Barr prior to the U.S. Open. We will let you know if and when both are scheduled to air. Check out the slideshow of Voke's week at THE PLAYERS.
