This week we are in Germany for the BMW International Open, which is an event that always draws in the European Tour's best players.

With the European Tour season now at the half way stage, and the Open just a few weeks away, our Titleist ambassadors know that playing well at this time of the season could lead to life-changing achievements.

The course this week, which opened in 1996 will provide another stern test. At  over 7,200 yards, half of the holes on the course hold a water hazard, so straightness from the tee will be rewarded with the opportunity to go birdie hunting!

The tournament kicked off yesterday, and many of our Titleist ambassadors have posted impressive numbers to give them the opportunity to build a solid number this week, in the hope of glory come Sunday evening.

Last weeks winner, Pro V1x loyalist Mikko Ilonen, has continued his fantastic form with a solid 68. But the current leader is Titleist Brand Ambassador Rafa Cabrera-Bello who shot 64 yesterday and is already -3 today. Rafa produced 8 birdies in a flawless round yesterday to top the leaderboard.

Keep it going guys and good luck to all of our Titleist ambassadors over the weekend!

Understanding your lie and knowing how to approach the shot in front of you is the key to developing a good short game.

In the latest installment of our 18 Shots series, PGA Professional and Director of Instruction at Shadow Ridge Country Club James Sieckmann talks about how angle of attack factors into chip shots from around the green and how different lies will require some slight adjustments to setup and technique.

James also provides some great advice on how to improve your short game practice routine that is sure to help you get a little more comfortable with the tricky lies that we've all encountered out on the course.

Team Titleist catches up with leading golf coach Claude Harmon who urges you to embrace the shot shape you have.

At the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship, Pro V1x loyalist Kevin Streelman birdied his final seven holes to shoot a final-round 64 and claim his second victory on the PGA Tour. Streelman’s closing stretch is a new PGA Tour record for consecutive birdies to win a PGA Tour event, surpassing the previous mark of six straight established at the 1956 St. Paul Open.

Pro V1x loyalist Miko Ilonen claimed a wire-to-wire victory at the European Tour’s Irish Open. Ilonen opened the tournament with a seven-under par 64 and never relinquished the lead en-route to a 13-under-par 271 total.

On the Champions Tour, Pro V1 loyalist Tom Lehman holed a 12-foot-birdie putt on the final hole of regulation to claim a one-stroke victory at the Encompass Championship. Lehman finished with a 15-under-par 201 total to claim his eighth-career Champions Tour victory.

Rounding out the weekend success, Pro V1 x loyalist Joel Dahmen shot a final-round 69 at the Syncrude Boreal Open on the PGA Tour Canada to card a 22-under-par 266 total to secure his second victory of the season.

With four more wins this week, Titleist’s year-to-date victory count advances to 81. That's more than four times the nearest competitor with 19 and more than all competitors combined.

In total, 11,725 players have teed up Titleist golf balls in competition on the 2014 worldwide professional tours, more than six times the nearest competitor with 1,919 and more than all competitors combined.

Welcome to The Irish Open

This week, the European Tour returns to Ireland for The Irish Open, at Fota Island Resort. The Irish Open was last staged at Fota Island back in 2002 when Titleist brand ambassador Soren Hansen was the winner. With more length and two island type greens, our Titleist ambassadors will need to be on form this week to be successful.

As always, there are many of our Titleist Ambassadors in the field, and some starting the tournament off strong are Pro V1x loyalists, Mikko Ilonen, Robert Rock and Robert Karlsson.

Mikko carded a course record 64 on Thursday rolling in eight birdies!! and followed up with a 68 yesterday. Keep it going Mikko.

The best of luck to all our Titleist ambassadors over the weekend.

Stay tuned to Team Titleist for further updates…and enjoy the golf!
