Hole in one at Cedar Ridge Golf Course

Hole in one at Cedar Ridge Golf Course

Usually I hit a pitching wedge on the #11, 140 yard par 3 at Cedar Ridge Golf Course in Cedar City, Utah; however, I decided to hit a 9 iron because the temperature was colder, the hole was cut in the back of the green, it had been raining and the air was heavy with humidity, and because there was a breeze from the south. I hit the shot well with a small fade aided by the wind. The ball hit the green about five feet in front of the hole and bounced toward the flag stick. I saw the ball hit the flag stick and then it disappeared. It hit with such force that I heard the impact from the tee. I couldn't see the ball and thought it may have ricocheted off the green.

There was no ball on the green as I approached the hole. I looked in the hole and found my ball. The ball I hit was a Titleist Pro V1x.

This was my second hole-in-one. My first hole-in-one was during a charity tournament and I won a car as a result of my hole-in-one. Though my most recent hole-in-one was not accompanied by a prize, it was still a thrilling experience that I shall never forget.
