Titleist is the Top Choice across Every Major Equipment Category at The National Final
October 17, 2013- As the country's top PGA Club Professionals gathered for the 2013 PGA Professionals Championship at Hamilton Island Golf Club in Queensland, the momentum and unmatched success of Titleist across every major equipment category was evident once again.
From golf balls to drivers, fairway metals, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters, more players made Titleist their top equipment choice at the 2013 PGA Professionals Championship than any other.
Not only did more players rely upon Titleist equipment with overwhelming success at the showcase event for Australian PGA Club Professionals, Titleist golf ball loyalist Craig McLean, PGA Teaching Professional at the Sorrento Golf Club in Victoria won with it.
"By far my best achievement" McLean said after the win. "I played a lot on tour throughout Asia in the last 12 years- on the Asian, Korean and Indian Tours, and had success in Singapore whilst I lived there but to win this after losing last year by one, I had to come back this year and win. And to do that I'm stoked."
McLean, who relies upon the Pro V1x golf ball, Titleist AP2 irons (3-P) and Vokey Design sand and lob wedges jumped to the front on day 2 with a round of 72 in windy conditions on the tough island layout and never relinquished the lead for the remainder of the tournament. In the end the winning margin was two strokes as McLean's finished with rounds of 75, 72, 72- 219 to secure his first PGA Professionals Championship. After the presentation McLean paid tribute to Head Professional at Sorrento Mark Williamson and the membership.
"The members at my home club Sorrento Golf Club in Victoria have been so supportive. I'm the teaching pro there, and my boss Head Professional Mark Williamson and all the members have been so supportive of my golf and my coaching and they'll be just as happy as I am with the win."
As a result of winning the 2013 PGA Professionals Championship, McLean earns an invitation to play in the 2013 Australian PGA Championship, to be contested November 7-10 at the Royal Pines Resort in Queensland.
Among the 50 players who earned invitations to this week's PGA Professionals championship, more played Titleist equipment than any other brand. This week's field included ten full-line Titleist Staff Professionals. Overall, 37 out of the 50 PGA Professionals Championship qualifiers relied upon the Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success. Titleist also swept the driver, fairway wood, hybrid, iron, sand, lob and approach wedge, and putter equipment categories.
It’s at venues such as the PGA Professionals Championship and 6 State Sectional qualifying events where Titleist receives serious player affirmation that its equipment objectives of quality and high performance across every category are met and exceeded. Australia's PGA Professionals devote their careers to helping golfers improve and enjoy the game of golf. So when it comes to choosing the highest performing equipment for their own games, just look in their bags.
