What's In Adam's Bag?

Posted: April 2, 2007

Titleist ambassador Adam Scott follow up a third round 7-under 65 with a final round 6-under 66 to finish at 17-under 271, capturing the Shell Houston Open by three strokes. Adam is using the new Pro V1 golf ball and new 907D2 driver (specs below). He first put the 907D2 in his bag at the WGC-Accenture Match Play and it took just three PGA Tour starts to win with it. At the Shell Houston Open, Adam's driving distance averaged 306.5 yards ranking him 4th in the field for the week. He also hit 79.2% of greens in regulation including 89% GIR in the final round. Check out this article from The Tour Van for more on Adam and the new Titleist 907 drivers.

Some of you might have read in the Tour Blog about some of the adjustments that the Titleist Tour Van guys implemented for Adam less than two weeks ago including tweaks to his fairway loft, a new 585.H hybrid and a new Vokey wedge. Does Adam practice with Pro V1 balls on the range? In general, are Titleist Tour players given balls of their choice to use at the range? If so, what happens to the balls?

Way to go Adam!

Robert Sellman

What's the difference between the current 906F2 in Titleist's lineup vs. the proto that Adam's using, the 906F4? Is the 906F4 going to be released to the general market soon?

Thanks! This blog is the best thing to happen to the web since.....well, TITLEIST.COM!

Thanks so much for sharing this information. There are a number of web sites that report on the equipment used by winners and they all invariably have inaccuracies. To get the proper details straight from the manufacturer is excellent. I appreciate your efforts on this site to give us more in depth information and a peek inside the ropes.

What an awesome site for Titleist! The details of what is in Adam's bag last week is great! I'm a big Adam Scott fan and a Titleist freak and this blog site takes the cake. I love ScottyCameron.com and now with this site, life in golf can't get any better. Thanks and keep the information coming.

Congratulations Adam Scott!

Congrats to Titleist and your Tour team. I am interested in getting the VS Proto in my new 585.H and 970 3-wood. Do you offer the 95g hybrid shaft and the 95g fairway wood shaft as options? Thanks again.

Please see the comment here for the answer to your question.

How does Adam's fairway wood, the 906F4 differ from the 906F2?

Robert Sellman

The 906F4 prototype that Adam and several other Tour players are testing has a lower CG, an increased face area in the impact zone, a larger profile, and a shallower face than the 906F2.

Titleist develops many prototype products for performance-validation testing on Tour. Some of these products are never released to the consumer market. Please check Titleist.com often for the most up-to-date product information.

We currently offer the VS Proto 85 Fairway as a custom shaft option for the 906F2 and the VS Proto 80 Hybrid as a custom shaft option for the 585.H.

Our R&D Department is constantly testing shafts for potential introduction into our stock and custom shaft matrixes.
